I never experienced these with my first but I've been having them on and off from 28 weeks second time round. I'm now 31 weeks and have just went through 4 hours of them!! Anyone else had them for this long? Previously only lasted 15/20 mins. Obviously not a problem and not painful just really uncomfortable and reminded me of what lies ahead :o

I had mine all day and night long from about 23 weeks onwards and they became progressively stronger to the point that they would take my breath away, but never painful. They continued (painless) right up to losing my water and having a c-section!

I found that they abatted a bit if I stopped what I was doing, e.g. if sitting I would walk, if moving around I would sit down. They got a lot worse during sex which caused a few issues :)

I am 32 weeks and mine are progressively lasting longer and longer. They take my breath away too but if I'm at home I find getting onto all fours can help alleviate that tense, tight feeling.

I find it funny all the pregnancy books and guides say they only last 30seconds and aren't uncomfortable.

In fact, I'm having one now...

I thought mine were a bit strange at 31 weeks - ended up with a 9-week early prem. Mind you don't assume they are B.H.

God I hope I don't go this early!! Not prepared at all. Think I'll start getting things ready just incase then. Glad I'm not the only one not experiencing 'textbook' BH. Thanks :)

I wasn't prepared in any way - it was my first and we were about to move house....... Good luck.

I have been having off BH too, glad to hear I'm not the only one. I am 28 wks and was having BH all day and night on thurs every 3-5 mins. At about 5pm I decided to have a relaxing bath which seemed to help a bit and they went to every 15 mins or so. Yesterday they were back to 'normal' and I had them pretty infrequently. REALLY hoping this isnt a sign of an early arrival though as I am totally unprepared!!!
