Is this the baby moving? Odd sensation

I'm 15 week pg with my second dc. I've not felt the baby move per ce, but I keep having these really, really, odd sensations in my stomach.

It's like my stomachs turning over, or tightning. It only happens for about 30 seconds then slowly tails off.

I had it with Jack but never really knew or asked what it was. It's quite a nice feeling, actually.

Does anyone know what I mean?

From my experience, it doesn't sound much like the baby. Normally the baby feels like a kind of fluttering rather than a tightening, but I suppose it could be.

I had that exact feeling from quite early as well, I think it was the baby moving and turning inside me!! I still get a similar feeling now at 32 weeks only much stronger but I think they are braxton hicks.

I really wouldn't have thought it was the baby, it's so so tiny at 15 weeks that I'd be surprised if it could give such a strong sensation at this stage. Most people, as I'm sure you know, will only feel flutters or like bubbles at this stage.

If it is the baby, it looks like you're in for good rib kicking over the next few months! Wink

Hiya, I'm so pleased to see this message. From how you've described it that sounds like what I've been experiencing. I started feeling that from about week 14, I'm in my 17th week now and still getting them. If anything they feel stronger now. Its as you say, not the fluttering or the bubbles like everybody says but more like tightening, its hard to desrcibe but I think its definite movement. I'm having twins and these are my first so I have nothing to compare it to in fairness. However when I described it to my midwife she shrugged it off at first until where I'd pointed to having the sensations she later detected as where one of the babies was! :)

i have had this from about 15/16 weeks i am know 24 weeks and still get this feeling!

it was mostly when i lay down that it happened but was as though the bottom half of my stomach was tightning. It felt like it was tense although i wasnt doing it! i never felt the flutters or bubbles at all just this then light kicks around 19/20 weeks :)

i always wondered what this was but sure know it has been baby or pregnany related at least!

I think it could be the baby turning over, maybe? I could certainly feel definite movements at 15 weeks and they have loads of room to do acrobatics in there at that stage.

I'm 18 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I got these sensations exactly a week ago - like a faint rolling feeling. I've had 4 distinct ripple 'kicks' since and constant rolling at times. Definitely the baby. In fact today, I had a flutter and my stomach moved slightly where I had the flutter.
It is feasibly possible that you can feel baby. It depends on your anatomy and how tuned in you are to changes within your body. Mine are quite distinct and I'm able to tell them apart from bowel ripples!!!

It could be round ligament pain, i.e. everything moving and stretching inside (it always feels a bit like tickles to me), it could be Braxton Hick contractions (the uterus regularly contracts from conception inwards), it could be the baby tumbling about in the amnotic sac. It's impossible to know which it is unless you are hooked up to a monitor and u/s to see what's actually going on.

Whatever, it is def. a good sign!
