How awake is bump now?

I'm currently 27 weeks, and every week i'm feeling my bump moving more and more througout the day and night- I guess as the space is getting more restrictive.

But what is the little ones patterns of sleep, are they awake in there alot of the time? Confused

Just thinking about how much i'm talking to it now, but is the little one actually awake to hear the crazy ramblings of it's ma?

You're not crazy.
It's something most pregnant women must think about.

In general, the baby tends to be lulled into sleep when you move around and wake up when you stop moving.
That's why you feel it most when you're sitting down having a rest and when you're lying in bed trying to get to sleep.

You'll find that you feel the movements more and more for the next few weeks as it gets bigger and stronger. Then it will start to get constricted and the movements and turns will reduce.

It's a wonderful feeling. Enjoy!

I think babies can hear you evenwhen they're sleeping so it will be a comfort whether they are awake or not.

And dobt worry about feeling silly - Just wait until you start to rub your tummy after you've had baby! Grin Not that I ever did that lol!Wink

I can't help it, it starts kicking and I talk to it. People at work think i'm talking to them most of the time, they're starting to get used to the whittering one in the corner Wink

I talk to my LO all the time in there. I think it is soothing for the both of us.

I remember starting to feel the most distinctive movements at 27 weeks and at 29 now, I can feel her movements and kicks getting stronger all the time. It is only two weeks but she seems to have gotten so much stronger in that short time and more active than ever.

My LO is awake a lot of the time but the most activity is when I am in bed or resting. She even wakes up to distinctive sounds like when I get on an underground train, It's like she like's certain noises so is more responsive to them even if she was probably sleeping two minutes before.

I yelled OWWW STOP THAT at my bump this morning and my mum told me off for using a tone! Never mind that it really hurt! He did stop though!

I chat away to my 36 wk bump all the time (mostly at the moment trying out her name and to tell her to get her foot out of my ribs!) we're also starting to have conversations about when she's going to get here (2 weeks time, thank you very much!)

She likes to be on the move all the time, although seems to sleep between 12 and 5am. Again, we're having conversations about how she's going to keep that up when she arrives :)

Aw JenniL, two weeks to go, how lovely.

Well i'm going to keep chatting away, I think it's nice even if the little one doesn't understand a word- a least he/she is hearing my voice.
