Faint lines on FRER - slightly worried

Morning all,

I got a faint positive on an Internet cheapie test at 9DPO. I tested again at 10DPO and the line was darker. at 12DPO i used a FRER and the line was faint but still there. Today is 14DPO and i got another faint line, roughly the same as the one i got at 12DPO. I don't usually use FRER so i don't know how readily they colour up IYWKIM. I have run out of the internet cheapies so i cant do another test with them.

I am slightly concerned that the HCG is not doubling properly. A part of me thinks that my FMU this morning might have been too dilute to get a good result (it was a BIG wee) but i don't want to give myself false hope. Have had multiple miscarriages in the past but after having DD and being diagnosed with a clotting disorder (and put on appropriate treatment) i had hoped that was all behind us.

Any experienced of positive results on FRER would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've alway found them a bit pants tbh... I've had neg results from them but pos sain/tesc/cbd now on dc3 and I don't think I've had an accurate response from them yet!
Why don't you get an apt with doc, with your history they'll surely check you over.
I know it's really tough but try and relax, and congratulations... Looks like you've got a busy 9 months ahead! X

You don't need to do any more tests. The faintness of the line is nothing to do with the viability of the pregnancy or hcg levels but all to do with the limitations of the tests and other factors such as dilution of urine and time of day.

If you are getting a line then you are pregnant and no amount of testing will tell you anything beyond this. All it will do is make you worried and dent a hole in your pocket.

I have only ever had faint lines before about 7 weeks and know now that only a blood test can tell you anything about hcg.

And I had a + at 9dpo on an internet cheapie and - with frer at 14 days dpo. Pregnancy was just fine.

Please step away from testing repeatedly. You're pregnant. Best of luck and congratulations.

Always loved FRER and have had good results with them. I got a really faint line with FRER then the next day another really faint one (so faint you could barely see it) then 2 days later it was stronger.

www.peeonastick.com/hptfaq.html#8 read number 8 and 21, I find that a really hepful site.

Congratulations :)

Thanks ladies. I have booked an appointment with the GP for Monday morning.
I did give in to the neurosis though and just ran out to superdrug and bought one of their EPTs. The line is nice and respectably pink.

i will now step away from the pee stick Grin

Sometimes it something just as simple as the amount of dye in the test. HPTs aren't meant to be quantative i.e. you aren't actually supposed to compare one positive with another. Congratulations! :o

congratulations! What ShowOfHands said. I think her post should come up as an auto-response to every faint-line wibble that comes our way in the pregnancy forum Grin

pg tests = slightly evil.

They're not there to make us happy, they're there to make money for the companies which produce them.

Anyway, wishing you all the very best and one very sticky bean...
