Had bleeds on a few occasions, and right at the beginning I had cramps and mid flow period style bleeding. Had an u/s over a week go that dated me at 5wks 2days, in that you could only see the gestational sac which was about 4mm. Had more bleeding (light, on/off, watery red) so went back today. She said that you can now see the yolk sac but no baby. Although she said is good that something has progressed she said that I'm measuring at just over 5 weeks still!?! How does that make sense? Apparently the gestational sac is 9mm now?!

This is my first pregnancy, I'm 25. I'm convinced I'm miscarrying (my breasts feel less tender today and I'm less bloated) I really need to know what's going on!

Take care of yourself, keep in contact with your midwife/gp. It's may be just a case of waiting at this point, hard as that is.

Each pregnancy is different, however I did bleed from four weeks and then again at eight and all was ok.

Don't be afraid of asking lots of questions at each appt.

Hope all goes well.

Thank you, I'm really very scared. I really wouldn't have thought that I would be like this but I'm just so scared I'm miscarrying. Next ultrasound on the 25th, seems such a long wait!

I had bleeding with dd#1 at 6 weeks & had a vaginal scan....all that was visible at that early stage was a small, shadowy circle-it was baby's heart....almost 5 years on that image is ingrained in my memory. A foetus as we would recognise doesn't form for a couple weeks yet.

Best of luck, hope all turns out ok.
