Anyone else due tomorrow and fancy a chat?

Hi

My EDD is tomorrow and I'm starting to get a little bit impatient - silly I know!

Anyone else in the same situation?

I'm getting loads of texts from various people already asking if there are 'any signs' etc. but the answer is a big fat NO.

I've not been on any of the ante-natal threads as they all move a bit fast for me.

Would be nice to hear from you...

Im due tomorrow! Have also been getting the increased levels of phone calls/texts off people, they're starting to drive me a bit scatty actually. I feel like I wake up every day just waiting for bedtime to come to get another day under my belt, sad hey?
Still, took myself off for a nice morning with dd, went to see Kung fu panda 2 then for some lunch out.
Is this your first?

No, will be my 2nd. Have a DD already like you. How old is your DD?

We had a quite a nice morning too, trying to keep busy and distracted. Am now relaxing on the sofa though, watching tennis while she sleeps Smile.

I completely understand what you mean about getting another day under your belt. Every morning that I wake up I think "well this is one day closer even if it doesn't happen today"!. Sad!

My DD has just turned 2 and is also asleep as we speak while I furiously bounce up and down on ball. Quite honestly though I really dont think its going to be any time soon, I dont know why but mentally I dont feel ready. I think its the complication of having DD to think about aswell if that makes sense. How old is your dd? How are you feeling about going from 1 to 2?

ipredicttrouble · 22/06/2011 15:56

My DD is 11.5 months so yes I've also got a lot of anxiety of going from 1 to 2, particularly with such a small age gap. Plus her birthday is coming up and I really don't want them to have to share a birthday Sad.

So, like you, I desperately want some sign of labour starting but also not sure if I'm ready for the chaos that will inevitably follow?!

My due date is today but nothing so far except some random contractions last Friday night Hmm

This is soooooo boring.

Hello all. My due date is today and nothing. Have cleaned the house from top to bottom today (again!) as was all there was to do and I feel guilty when I sit down too much. Have got midwife appt tomorrow at 11am and hoping she will do sweep but will depend if baby engaged (wasn't at 38 weeks and I don't feel any different since).

This is my first and not too nervous about the birth - bring it on!!

Off to bounce on my ball now and watch the tennis!!

Ahh, IPT I'm sure it will be hard but when they are a bit older they will entertain each other being close in age. Betty, I too had some odd tightenings on sunday night and thought it was all going to kick off but alas, here I am, still duffed up :(

Report
ipredicttrouble · 22/06/2011 18:12

That's what I'm hopin Ifancy!

I've had no tightenings whatsoever. Not fair Grin. Or least I don't think I have.

Hope you get a sweep emolly. I'm sure it's policy in this area not to do them until you're a week over your EDD. I'm still going to ask though. I've got a MW appt on Monday when I'll be 40+4.

Why does it feel like time is standing still? Like when you are a kid and waiting for Christmas...

Here too they only do sweeps when a week over but good luck, she may take pity!

My Braxton hicks hurt like hell now!!

ipredicttrouble · 22/06/2011 20:50

I know this is probably a stupid question but how do you know the difference between a Braxton Hicks and a real contraction??

BettyBum · 22/06/2011 21:54

For me the Braxton hicks are completely different. They involve my tummy going really really hard and you can see and feel the shape of the baby. Contractions don't feel tight, or they don't for me, just painful.

Oh I wish I had paid attention at the antenatal classes when they talked about the procedure for when you go over your date. I think I switched off at that point as rather naively I was convinced I would go before!! The only thing I remember is that they don't leave you any longer than 9 days.
Oh well hopefully midwife will take pity and give me one, need to practice my "feel sorry for me" face !!

well here we are on the due date...babies arrive to order today yes? I just had a big meltdown and spent a few hours crying.....i dont really know why but it all started when dd headbutted me in the nose, it opened a gate! DH has come from work and taken her off my hands so after a sleep I'm feeling much better.
I just cant believe I've got to today and still nothing or any indications it will be soon. How are the rest of you holding up?

Hi all, my due date was yesterday but am very fed up too! Can I join you? Have DS1 3 years who keeps asking, as well as everyone else. I am inclined to stop answering the phone, it drives me mad. I Will Tell You When It Starts, Stop Asking (please, FIL). Sorry, off for a sleep now, DS in bed ahhh

Hi

Had a little bit of blood at about midday today and a couple of contractions (I think). However, they are very erratic!

God it's all so unknown...

ipredicttrouble - that sounds hopeful, good luck!

Just to update on my midwife visit. She was all set to do sweep despite me only just being over my date. But when she checked position the babys head is still free so she couldn't do. Baby doesn't seem to want to engage! Came away feeling very fed up, can't bear the thought of having to wait another week :-(
I've been bouncing on stupid ball and walking loads since my last review and still no movement! Argh..............

Hello fellow frustrated ladies! I'm not due until Monday (hope I'm still welcome!) but I'm climbing the walls with frustration.

I'd managed to swindle myself an early sweep scheduled for today. However, upon meeting the midwife have having an internal examination, she told me that my cervix is still solid as a rock and thus there's no chance I'll be delivering for at least seven days. I'm feeling so disheartened!

At least you ladies have DC1s to cuddle up to and keep yourself busy with. This is my first child for me so I'm just twiddling my thumbs!

mummyofprawn - your day does sound just like mine!
This is my first too. Have been on mat leave for 6 weeks now and I have had long enough now on my own! Theres only so much more of Wimbledon I can watch! This week I havn't been out much as don't feel too confident driving anymore so close to the wheel and don't want to be too far from home on my own.
I was made an appt for next Thurs but MW could sense I was really disappointed so shes booked me into the joint clinic with the Registrar on Monday to see what the plan of action for next week is. I would love to go myself over the weekend before then but have given up on the wishful thinking.
Off to watch One Born USA on more4+1.

ipredicttrouble - sorry to hear, sounded so promising!
Nothing to report from me today. Not been feeling quite as sorry for myself as I did y'day! I think my bump may have moved down a little today but not sure if its all in my head. Really hopeful that something happens this weekend for us all!!

What can we do to keep entertained this weekend???

Report
MummyOfPrawn · 24/06/2011 22:50

Nothing to report here, either! But the midwife saying that I've at least another 7 days before anything could possible happen meant that DP and I could go for a day at the zoo together with our minds at ease that I wasn't going to pop!
