Congratulations! I wish you the best of luck. You will need to be prepared and to get organised!
I would go to yr union and start researching what sort of support you can get from them, not necessarily financial but in terms of any groups of other students who are mums-to-be. Speak to your tutor about how you will manage the first 3-6 months when you will be at your most tired - particularly if this coincides with exam time. You may need to take a year out. What will your accommodation situation be when baby comes?
I think you may be eligible for vouchers towards fruit and veg? you should find out about this.
Go to yr bank and make sure you have a good savings plan sorted, you should be putting aside money every month from now.
Make sure you are saving all your boots and supermarket rewards points, these will be very useful later on.
Learn to cook if you don't know how already. There are lots of great videos on cooking simple and complicated dishes online, try cooking along with some of these and make sure yr meals include fruit and veg. Best to try to get used to eating healthily to keep your energy up and save money. On the contrary, don't be surprised if you struggle to eat "healthy" foods in yr first few months, you might find you just want bland food.
Be prepared for overwhelming exhaustion in yr first trimester. If you get it, the tiredness will knock you sideways and you will need to nap every day.
Use travel sickness bands if you get nausea.
Stay calm and try not to tell yr friends about pregnancy till you are at least 12 weeks. I don't want to be the voice of gloom but miscarriage is very very common. If you are concerned or have any bleeding, DO NOT hesitate to call your GP immediately. I have miscarried before and it was quite traumatic.
Work on making your relationship with your partner as strong as possible. There won't be many 2nd yrs planning a family so you might feel isolated, you will need each other so you need to be ready to talk and share your feelings.
Whenever you go to the doctor, write a list of questions before you go, everything will drop out of your head when you see them so best to be organised.
Get a lovely book to tell you more about preganancy and birth. This one is full of helpful info, and you will use it well into baby's first year of life. It is a bit of a tome, but worth every penny.
