23wks in - am going thru cleaning frenzy. Early nesting?

finding myself with a need to get my kitchen in order. Am still a total washing up dodger, but I have found myself wanting to empty all my drawers, wipe out, dust, rearrange etc. Have just spent hour cleaning out dishwasher filters etc, and yesterday spent several minutes scrubbing bits of the sink. Not usual behaviour.

Will say that even doing small amounts of activity like this are tiring and I'm very nervous of just how little I will be able to do later on. my back and tummy are aching...

It's quite dangerous to ignore this need when pregnant. But you mustn't concentrate the desire on too small an area.

I think it best if you come round to my house and I can point you in the direction of somewhere to channel these needs.

It's early nesting, yes. You'll be washing and obsessively ironing the curtains next, then baby clothes, then you'll decide you need to implement 'systems'. You might even consider a filing cabinet.

nesting! that must be what it was for me, too! I'm 24 weeks and I was getting a bit worried about myself at the weekend, rearranging drawers and cleaning windowsills and putting all my cookbooks in size order on the shelf.

It got to about 5-ish, and I collapsed on the sofa wondering what on earth was up with me. Reading your post, the penny has just dropped :)

this is exactly how I felt/feel! I was stood on the kitchen sides scrubbing the tops (!) of our cupboards at about 18 weeks ... then a few weeks rest ... then I started chucking things out a few weeks ago and I feel the need to do it again this weekend. Don't think it's nesting yet - just think I'm scared about how litttle I'll be able to do in a few more weeks and DH's standard just isnt up to mine! Wink

hahaha! I got a lovely blue one with a little lock on it! I'm planning to bring all our household bills down by looking on comparison sites when I go on maternity leave ... I'm embarassing myself now by how geeky I sound! Blush

I have manically cleaned since 18 weeks, every day I would thoroughly clean the whole house! I'm now 30 weeks, have spd, placenta previa and a long list of other things, watching my husband try and do it was the most painful thing ever, a quick scout round would be the word! So, as he didn't do it properly, (he wished he had now) I hired a cleaner to do it!! So I sit, relax, and watch the cleaners scrub everything! It's amazing!!

I'm 19 weeks and my cleaning/sorting frenzy started last weekend. Tomorrow I've got to wait in for a dishwasher delivery and I am actually looking forward to what I can get done in the house!

My worry is what happens when I've done everything???
