No I havent had the baby yet, the HUGE lump attached to my front might be a bit of a clue dont you think?

Yes, I suppose I should "get a move on", but sadly this isnt actually down to me and I take the fact that she is comfy were she is as a compliment!

Shouting "Oooh get a bucket in case her waters go!!!" across a packed shop when I nip in for a pint of milk is NOT the last word in humour, infact its fucking annoying and you are lucky I didnt throw the milk at you.

And the man who owns the corner shop asking EVERY SINGLE DAY when the baby is due is getting a leeeeetle bit wearing. Sadly my answer of "the same as it was when you asked me yesterday and the day before" has passed him by!

And a person who I havent spoken to in 6 months texting to remind me to tell them "as soon as anything happens" can bugger off! yep cos you are first on my list before my parents and family, not.

You would think that after 5 other babies, I would be used to this or have a fail safe method of dealing with it, but no! It is still as annoying and there is little you can say without being actively rude to someone! Atleast I havent had any "any news" phonecalls or messages so far, thanks to a pre-emptive strike by me and DH!

And ..... breathe.....:o

Haven't you had that baby yet? You want to get a move on.

Bogeyface · 26/05/2011 16:18

I am breathing slowly and calmly so you cannot get to me.

Ah Feck it

I'm 39weeks with DC3 and if another person tells me to have a curry I won't be responsible for my actions.

lol Grin

You have my sympathies ladies, I was 41.5 weeks and the number of times I was told to go for a walk, have sex and have a curry...yeah right, cos all 3 of those options were really appealing at that time Hmm

I'm 37 weeks and dreading this. Everyone's already bugging me. I'm sick of having the same conversations over and over with different people, feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day.

Think I might make myself a badge that says 'due 18/6, no it's not long, yes am keeping well'.

I'm also finding the random people that haven't spoke to me the whole 9months but keep messaging me to ask for updates an to let them know as soon as he's out a bit tiring.

Oh and sil texting 3times a day to ask if he's here yet, I'm tempted to have him and not tell anyone, that will teach them :o

Oh joy, I think I'll stop going out when I get to that stage! Grin

Am 21+3 and ALL this week everyone keeps saying "ooo you can't hide your bump anymore"

Yes, my bump has grown. No I can't "hide" it but NO I don't want to. Everyone knows I'm pregnant. It is not a secret. I'm actually chuffed to bits. Thanks for asking.

PS do let us know the second labour starts won't you? Wink

Am 41+4 with dc3 and this is spot on how I feel. Gah. Also "no baby yet?" from people who can actually seem me in person....

Ooo that's my favourite thing people say 'not had the baby yet then' erm yeah I have but I have put a beach ball under my top because I miss feeling like a whale.

Has anyone else found that the more kids you have the less patiences you have near the end?

39 weeks here.

I'm not fooled by all the "just phoned to say hi" telephone calls. I promise I'll let you all know when something happens. No I don't want to be eating pineapple, or curry. Yes, I am taking Raspberry leaf extract. Yes, I've heard that sex can sometimes bring on labour. Yes, I am looking tired - looking after 2 preschoolers and being pregnant will do that to you. And finally, yes, I'm still pregnant.

Aaaggghhhh!

Bambino, definitely yes!

I have no patience whatsoever this time with the stupid comments. I could laugh it off first time around but this time I barely manage to cover my irritation, if I actually manage it at all!

Same here - I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and left work this week. EVERY SINGLE work colleague told me to have a curry - they know I've had hyperemesis for the past 33 weeks but alas of course I'll be forking the vindaloo down now Hmm

I'm with you bogeyface - as it's my DC3 my patience with ridiculous comments has worn veeeerrrrrry thin and I am about to start throwing things.

I never minded this. I was very late, off work and stamping around my local area a lot before I was induced. I felt quite well-kent, and felt OK about that. I was a little perturbed, though, when I went to buy the coffees on my first morning home from hospital and the chap trotted out his usual "still waiting?" comment.

thesurgeonsmate · 26/05/2011 17:14

Sorry, just re-read thread title. It's a rant. Was totally inappropriate to say I never minded this sort of thing. Ignore me.

My due date is today but I have tried to be vague about when baby is due throughout this pg as people seem to think it's like ordering a fkin washing machine & I should not only be able to name the delivery date but specify morning or afternoon slot as well Hmm

The people who have pissed me off really should know better as they have kids themselves, one of them has been Overdue twice before!

Am starting to feel the same about pineapple as I did about Ginger biscuits in the 1st trimester- just please stop telling me about them as if it's some new miracle cure! The day the nhs starts inducing women by feeding them pineapple instead of a prostaglandin drip is the day I will start eating it more than I do already.

Other gems include a phonecall from family member to ask "is the babies head in the right place?". Yes it is on top of it's neck according to the last scan thanks for asking.

Wow. What a bitch pg is turning me into! Think I need to relax a bit more :)

Hope everyone else who is im patiently waiting gets going soon!

I feel for you ladies :) I'm only 20 wks and really getting sick of the "ooh you have a bump" now every 10 minutes - I mean, yeah, I'm pregnant hello?!?

I have now followed the advice of wiser Mumsnetters and telling everyone that my due date is end of Oct (it's the 17th) :) I'm impatient and snappy on a good day so God help people when I'm gonna be 9 months!!! ;)
