What are the chances?

I'm 42, have 3 children with the youngest being 11. DH had snip 11 years ago. Have always had v regular periods but now I'm 11 days late....this never happens. Had usual symptoms last week but nothing arrived. Did an HPT just incase but this came up neg. I only did it because if I go to the GP he'll ask if I've done one. I'm a bit concerned because it's unusual but will leave it another week and if nothing happens I'll do another test and then go to Gp.
Has anyone ever known anyone who has become pg after vasectomy?
Thanks.

The Dr. did tell my husband that it is possible for the tubes to rejoin or could you be starting the perimenopause ?

I did wonder that myself. I know it's virtually impossible for me to be pregnant, I'm just concerned as to the rapid stop. Have had no sign of anything happening, no d/charge ..nothing at all.
Not had any undue stress, no change in weight, no depression...it's just weird. I was convinced last week I was about to come on..usual symptoms, tiredness, snappiness and aches. Have felt under the weather this week, going to the loo more than usual but I normally do after having a period..water retention and all that. So think I'll give it another week or so and if nothing happens will do another HPT and if thats neg will go see my GP. If I was perimenopausal I would have had some sort of a hint...anything..Thanks for responding x

I must admit I have scanned a woman who had been sterilised and her hubby had the snip and she was pregnant-not sure what that the chances of that are!

It's unlikely if the hpt was -ve

Now I'm wondering if it was a true reading. I did an HPT first thing in the morning but it was one of a Tesco twin pack for £3.50 ish. The first test was invalid ( nothing worked - not even the neg result) and I did the next within an hour or so...could this have been a diluted specimen so to speak ?
I checked out the likely symptoms for perimenopause and I don't have any of them. I just don't feel like myself at the moment, queasy this morning and still no show of any description....very puzzled. Guess I just have to see what happens in the next week or so and get to my GP if nothing changes.
Thanks x

Maybe try another HPT then, it would confirm things one way or another I guess. If your pee was pale and watery there may not have been enough hormone present. My advice would be to pee in a pot and dip the test in as you have more control over it and can assess the colour of the pee first!

Yes I think that's what I'm going to have to do....thanks for the help.
Not sure I could go through it all again if I am but we'll see how things turn out.
