Hi, can anyone out there give me some advice?? I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in feburary 2011, I had a chemical pregnancy the month after and this month 5 days before my period is due I did a test and got an immediate positive seconds after doing it! I did another 2 after to make sure and they were both the same and very bright lines!! I then bought a clear blue digital, which came up preganant and 2-3 weeks? (since conception)! That was on monday and my period is not due till friday? Has anyone else had this before? could it mean twins? or a problem? :s

Hi Angel,

Congratulations!

Have your periods been regular since your miscarriage? It could be that they are not as regular as before and you could have ovulated earlier then you thought.

This gives me hope as I miscarried at the begining of May!!

I don't think you have anything to worry about, but get yourself to the doctors anyway to get the ball rolling!!! Good luck!!

I took a Clearblue test before my period was due (think I was 3+5 at the time) and it came up with "pregnant 2-3 weeks" (aka 4-5 weeks pregnant). They aren't 100% accurate, so I didn't worry about it. I'm now 23 weeks and all is well!

Thanks Lilyrose!

Ive only had 2 periods since my MC and the first was at 27 days, the second 29 days on 22nd April, and prior to my mc, I had very irregular bleeding every 2-3 weeks! I only came off the depo injection last year, so I only got my first bleed in october....so I must be a fertile mrytle haha! not bad for being 37!

And big hugs for your miscarriage, it was an awful experience, but I dont seem to have had any problems conceiving after, infact I think i've been more fertile!

I've got my appointment on Monday with the doctor, its all very exciting and scary at the same time!

Let me know how you get on, I'm sure you'll have a little bean snug in your tummy in the next few months
xx

I hope it all goes well and lets hope we both go on to have healthy pregnancies!!

I have decided to start trying again straight away. Have read so many pros and cons on waiting and for me trying again now feels like the right thing to do! xx

I've had two mc's this year and am now 8+3 prg again.

Angel I'm really not convinced on those CB's.... I'd go by your line tests, and it sounds like you got a good strong and fast response. I've only done one test this time, and that was one of the internet cheapie ones. It was an odd one I found in a drawer, but did the job Grin.

Lily I got a bfp straight after my last mc, and all is well. Had a scan yesterday actually. The only downside is the amount of mentalling/worrying as you've not finished grieving from the mc.

Harrassed - Thats great news, congratulations! I know I am going to worry, but I would still worry a lot if I waited 3 months! How far was you when you miscarried before?

slow show, thank you!! you've put my mind at rest!

and Lilyrose, we started trying straight away again, the first month I had a chemical pregnancy, a very fait line the day before my period, then nothing! the second month I think my body was getting back to normal and I decided not to worry about it, forgot to take my vitamins and even drank the odd caffine coffee, took anti biotics and hot very drunk at a wedding....and hey bingo...I conceived the day after by my dates!!

and thanks harassed, good luck to us all and our winter babies! stay in touch, it would be great to hear how everyone's pregnancies are going! x

Lily with the first one in Jan I had a mmc. Found out at a scan at 10wks after a tiny bit of pink discharge that baby had died at 7wks. So had erpc, waited for first af and then we got bfp first time. Unfortunately mc'd that one at 5+1. Then got a bfp 4 weeks later...... it has been scary but my epu have been fab. I've had scans at 6 & 8 weeks to put my mind at rest.

I'm due Boxing Day!! Wishing you incredibly boring and uneventful pregnancies. Why don't you come over to the Freak Out thread on Conception?? Lots of lovely post-mc preg ladies....

Wow what an eventful year you have had and i hope it all goes smoothly for you!!! What a lovely Xmas present for you!!

I am going to ask for earlier scans as I found out at my 12 week scan that the baby had died at 10 weeks and also had an ERPC. I would not be able to wait till 12 weeks this time before having a first scan!

I am not to keen on the really long threads as you get so many people on them! I like the small, more personal ones!!!

harassedinherpants · 19/05/2011 15:26

Lily you may find you have to push for the scans, which I think is just awful. I got one at 6 weeks because all my symptoms started to vanish, so phoned epu and struck lucky by getting a lovely ward sister who booked me and said she'd put me down as referred by gp as you can't self refer. Then I blagged the 8 wk one basically! If you've had 2 consective mc's here you get an 8 wk one, but not if you've already had one. So I didn't mention that when I booked it Grin.

Fingers firmly x'd for us all!

Thanks for this info Harassed!

Angel let us all know how the doctors go!!! x

I'll let you know how it goes Lily, I hate the early days when you have no symptoms! I dont even have sore boobs this time, just headaches and pulling! I cant wait until I feel sick, then I know its more likely to be healthy!

You've had a rough time Harrased, keep us updated how it goes! from my dates I'm due either 20th Jan (from ov) or 27th (from lmp), with my last one she was due on christmas day and I had her 6 weeks early! They said its probably my natural gestation since I'm quite petite, that was 13 years ago though!

We've decided not to get scanned early, last time I had a vaginal scan the day before my mc, and it was very painful as I was bleeding, so we've decided just to let nature take its course, and if I'm not bleeding, then thats a plus! I bled every 3 days last time from the day I found out I was pregnant, so it wasnt right from the start, and I only ever had faint lines on pregnancy tests, and this time they are beaming bright red! So I'm just hoping its completly different!

I'll let you know how I get on monday, good luck to you both! x

angel good luck! I you wanted some reassurance you could ask them to test your hcg levels.

angel the same thing happened to me. I got a very strong BFP mid cycle, 2 weeks before my period was due. Turns out what I had thought was my last period had actually been a haemmorage from the wall of my uterus. I was actually 6 weeks pregnant.

Report
angeljefferson · 21/05/2011 09:41

hi Cattleprod I had actually thought of this myself, but I had done a test the day I had my period as I was 3 days late, and it was negative, although I do think I'd had a second ovulation a few days before my period! I'm classed as an 'old' mum, so I know this is possible! Well, I will keep you all up to date when I eventually get scans ? hcg (I might request this harrased!) and last night my first nausea kicked in, so I maybe am futher along than I think!! it all feels healthy this time, in a strange way I cant wait to feel really sick and get a huge tummy! xx

hope it goes ok. i hope you are pregnant but be warned after an early pregnancy loss a pregnancy test can stay positive for a while due to residual levels of Hcg, even after a period. I had this same experience last year so i dont want you to get your hopes up x

Similar experience - miscarried at 7 weeks gone and 5 weeks later felt sick walking around Tesco - so got the test and tested positive that afternoon.

Phoned doctor coz I wanted to know for sure - he was very negative and said it was probably old pregnancy hormones so rather than send me for a scan - too early to see anything anyway - he did blood tests to test for hcg levels.

Result came back a few days later and hormone level was very high. There is a number rating - can't remember the exact details. Sent to a scan a couple of weeks later and saw the baby's heartbeat.

She's now 15 months and I'm (a very young) 44.

Good luck

Hi everyone, ILoveKittyelise, my mc was in feburary and I've had 2 periods since then and my hcg was back to zero 1 week after my mc, I have done numerous tests since then as we have been trying to conceive and they have all been negative until now! My clear blue conception monitor has now also gone up to 3+ weeks since conception (making me 5 weeks) which meant I ovulated early, and this actually fits in perfect with when I think little bump was conceived!
Lilyrose, thank you, all went well, I'm officially 4 weeks pregnant from my Lmp, but the doc agrees I'm probably 5 due to early ovulation!! I am officially pregnant!!! woooohoooooo, and if I do a test now, the pregnant line comes up before the control line in less than 5 seconds from peeing on it haha! its very re-assuring!
I've been booked in with the midwife and at the hospital to start sorting scan dates etc.......
and FetchThe Maid, I was so worried being 37 (only just haha!) but I fell pregnant the first time this year after only being off the pill 2 weeks, and the second time on my 3rd cycle after my miscariage, so I guess I'm ultra fertile still (my daughter was concieved while I was on the pill 13 years ago!)
So us 'older' mums obviously have no trouble at all!
I'll let you know all how I do over the next few weeks! x

Lilyrose, I have my fingers, toes and everything crossed for you! But on my experience of the past three months, the two months we tried, nothing happened...........the month I thought 'oh well' at least we'll enjoy our two weeks abroad and the kings of Leon concert with lots of drinks (june and July!) and I drank caffine, got very very drunk.....and conceived the day after haha! oh and I ate loads of honey for a sore throat....I also did this in January when I concieved.....its where the word honeymoon comes from!! It does make you wonder if there is anything in it??? I also had loads of cough medicine with guienefesten (or something like that) in it.....I've also read this can increase your changes of getting pregnant because it thins your cervical secrections helping your otherhalfs swimmers to get to their destination, not that thats why I was taking it....I just happenend to have a cough and cold both times I concieved, take care and keep me up to date xx

Thanks cattleprod and buttonmoon!! x

Just to keep you up to date, I am officailly 7 weeks and 5 days, the clear blue was right, and I ovulated early!! I had to have a scan for a tiny bit of brown discharge and baby was where it should be with a good strong heartbeat!! unfortunately Ive got hyperemersis, and ended up admitted yesterday with IV fluids and anti-sickness drugs......one good thing is that my hormone levels are nice and high! feeling much better now rehydrated and I'm even eating, I lost half a stone in 4 days, which isnt good when I'm only 7st 12 anyway!
any news yet lilyrose?
