Bump goes hard and hurts at the end of the day

Hi all,

I'm 24 weeks today and up until around 4pm my bump is quite high and feels fine. After this time it seems to drop a bit and starts to hurt. I'm struggling to finish my dinner at night (no big problem as I'm eating plenty in the daytime!). I could understand this later on in my pregnancy but it just seems a bit early for it to be happening now? I can feel baby wriggling around but he/she feels like a tonne weight! It's like baby moves down to the bottom of my stomach later on it the day and just sits there - if that makes sense!

Has anyone else felt this?

oh ... and if it helps, I've had a dodgy stomach for a week (holiday food to blame I think!) and I've started feeling sick again.

Hoping it's just a little blip but if anyone has experienced this it'd be good to hear from you.

Hi, can't say I've ever experienced exactly what you're feeling and I'm expecting my third baby next month but that's not to say it's not normal as everyone's pregnancies are different. The hardness could be braxton hicks which are stronger if you're dehydrated which you might be if you've had a dodgy stomach. As always if you're worried call your midwife. I can only speak from personal experience but I'm sure someone else will be a long with some advice or more relevant experience. Hope you feel better soon xx

I am going to suggest dehydration too. How is your wee towards the end of the day? My bump at 35 wks is generally rock hard alot of the time but then Ive been having trouble trying to drink enough to make my wee an acceptable colour. Just about got to grips with it now and boobs/bump defo a bit looser. Is this possible with you?

hi, im 23 weeks with our 3rd. last couple of days in evenings bump goes hard, or sometimes feels like it should be hard, but isnt (hope that makes sense) and hurts a little. could it be early braxton hicks? i cant remember what they feel like but know things are different 3rd time around with muscles being weaker etc

Thanks so much for your help ladies. I'm going to up my water intake today and see how I get on. I've got my 25 week midwife appointment next week so I'll bring it up then too. x
