What is breast soreness in early pregnancy like?

First of all, Hi, I am new here. But thought this would be the best place to get advice...

I know this question has probably been asked millions of times but I was wondering your opinions on what I have been feeling...

OK, firstly, could you tell me if it started off gradually with you, or very sore all at once? And how long before you start feeling it?

I know everyone is different. But I wanted to know if anyone had expirenced the same as me.
I think I might be pregnant. I am due in a about 6 days. A few days ago, my breasts started getting a mild achy feeling inside them, mainly the left esp when lying up against my partner on the sofa of in bed, and I have to readjust my position as it is very uncomfortable. My breasts are very small, but the last couple of days they have gotten noticeably bigger and feel heavier, my partner commented this morning "what's going on with the size of your boobs?" The other day the nipple on the left breast itched like mad, it was almost unbearable, but now both feel really quite numb, number than usual. Now it is the right breast that feels more achy, only really if i press the palm of my hand up against it.

I'm not trying to get pregnant, although I would be quite happy if I was. We put the condom on halfway through sex usually, so I realise, there is a slight chance I could be.

mine felt bruised and heavy during the first 'growth' (before I knew I was pregnant) and my nipples became quite sensitive (which is my normal PMS) - but as soon as I realised I'd grown a size that really sealed pregnancy for me!

After a while they just got PAINFUL! but everyone's probably going to be different (just like everything else! hehe)

Congrats if you are x

oh should say - this happened in weeks (at a guess) 2-4, but I've heard some people don't grow until much later

Cat - what you are describing is what I experienced in the lead up to my first missed period. It felt like normal PMT tenderness X10 and with the itching nipples that you described.

Then from about week 3 I had to sleep with a sports bra on they were so painful!!

So obviously not scientific, but from this sample of one you could be pregnant, but I wouldn't panic/celebrate until you have done a test as it could just be exaggerated PMT!!

Thanks for the info guys. I have never experienced breast tenderness/pain/discomfort before my period, this is why this seems so 'strange' to me. I guess I'll have to wait to take a test. But will let you know the out come!
x

Quite sore and achy, and my breasts felt quite lumpy- in my first pregnancy my first thought was breast cancer because I could feel lumps but then realised both sides were the same! Also a tingling feeling deep inside the breast which lasts a few seconds at a time, which is just how a let-down feels when breastfeeding. As soon as I felt that this time around I knew I was pregant.

Hi. My boobs were the first thing I noticed. They were really sensitive. Drying after a shower was agony, especially if i was a bit rough drying my nipples :-/ I also notice my nipples, right at the end, went yellow. This worried me until my friend told me hers did in her pregnancy.
I had to wear a sports bra to bed because even turning over hurt! They also went up a size! This all happened right at the begining- 4/5wks pregnant.

Me and my partner have been trying to conceive for 7 months, each month had a late period only by a few days to a week ish but no pregnancy each time, so we started to lose hope and assumed there was something wrong with one of us but carried on having unprotected sex, This month I am late, Again! So we are not getting our hopes up yet, I am only late by two days (& counting) but last Thursday (4 days before AF was supposed to be due) I started to get sore boob's and nipples, on the boobs It was like an achey bruised feeling only when I pressed down on them but not so much a pain just a mild ache and the nipples when pressed down on was really painful and very itchy, By the next day the itchiness had gone but the pain continued getting more aches and sore by the day but only noticeable when I press down or my bra/clothes/partner brushes off them, I still have this feeling in my boob's and it has been about 6 days, about 4 days ago my friend insisted I did a Pregnancy test even though it was two days before AF was due and only a couple days after the soreness started but It was a BFN, I have never ever had this symptom before/during period/ovulation so it is a bit strange for me and I have no children so have nothing to compare it with, Has anyone experienced what I have and ended up with a BFP? If the pain continues, I am going to do another PT in 3 days then another a week after depending on if I get a BFN this time and if the pain continues. Please help and good luck to anyone trying to conceive x

We weren't TTC either so it was a complete shock, but in the week running up to my first missed period I got shooting pains in my boobs around my nipples and noticed they started aching whenever I was outside (it was November and super cold). Also gradual growth and darkening of the nipples, and to be honest, this, accompanied with random headaches and feeling generally 'off' - I knew I was pregnant before I even did the test 5 days later, which came up as a clear positive.

Good luck and I hope the result is what you want when you test :)

Mine were a little bit painful to touch about 3 days after I thought I'd ovulated which is normal for me with PMT anyway, I guess they felt a little bit heavier than normal until I found out I was pregnant but generally just sore to touch was the main thing for me.

The only way to describe it is like you have been punched in the boob and they are covered in bruises. The slightest touch used to make me scream. It was the first sign of being pregnant for me. It has calmed down a bit now, 10 weeks tomorrow Smile
hope you get the news you want x

I felt like I'd rubbed my nipples on a cheese grater. My breasts themselves weren't too bad until I came to take my bra off, then they felt incredibly heavy and really tender and bruised. This got much better when I stopped wearing underwired bras. Now 7+2 and the pain has settled down a lot but they seem to be huge now! And lots of veins. I also have an almost permanent 'nipple on'😳😳

problembottom · 04/10/2018 17:26

For me the pain was absolutely excruciating. I had to keep my bra on at all times (I don’t usually wear one at night) and I remember lying in bed next to DP at night crying because they were so unbelieveably sore. Taking my bra off for a shower was horrendous. There really was no mistaking I was pregnant, it was absolutely nothing like getting swollen/tender/sore breasts around your period. Lasted about ten days.

My boobs were the give away, I took my bra off one evening and they felt bruised and like rocks. They had doubled in size and honestly felt like they were going to burst. It was much worse than what I experienced before periods.
Because they grew I ended up knocking them on everything because I wasn't used to them being there and boy did I know about it.

I'm 6 weeks now and they stopped hurting a few days ago.
