Any good sleep positions to recommend?

I'm grouchy as hell through lack of sleep and wondered if anyone had any magic tips (other than the usual huge nest of pillows and wriggling around constantly trying to get comfy!)

I'm 35 weeks and the thought of this just getting worse is making me hell to live with... Help!

I got one of those wedge pillows a couple of weeks ago, which I shove under the bump to support it - it has really helped me. Other than that, I have 2 pillows under my head to help me breathe more easily, and one pillow between my legs... But I know what you mean, it's just getting more and more difficult to get comfortable now, and turning over in bed has become an olympic effort!

This is my second pregnancy and I had real trouble sleeping the first time.

This time, because DS sleeps in the same bed, I have had sofa cushions underneath our mattress for months as DS has trouble breathing in his sleep.

I have slept so so well (apart from one night when I took the sofa cushions out) - so it must be to do with being on a slight slope.

Is it getting to sleep or staying asleep that is the problem? I just ask as my issue is staying asleep and I've found that the later I go to bed the easier it is for me to get back to sleep following the inevitable toilet trip, as I tend to have had less sleep before waking up.

I do what JBrd does , but I've also got a duvet under my bottom sheet (like a mattress topper) which helps a lot of the shoulder & hip pressure.

I'm not at that stage yet TBH, but I know from last time that this helped!

Oh yes, I second the sleeping on top of another duvet option, definitely helped me with the hip pain, although if I forget to open the window I do get slightly hot at times!

I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to just being able to get into bed and go to sleep and being able to turnover without it being a military operation.

Thanks so much. Will def try the duvet under sheet option.

Furry it's both really - getting to sleep for the first time then staying that way! I find it takes me an hour or two to get to sleep (with one or two loo trips) then I'm waking up every couple of hours either for the loo or just because I'm uncomfortable and have to turn around...

Military operation is exactly it. Last night I had such a tantrum and threw all the pillows/cushions out of the bed. Ridiculous really!
