I'm 28 weeks and the last week i've been going to bed and waking around 1-2 am. The thing is when i wake i am wide awake and cant get back, I can't get comfy because sprout is constantly wriggling around, then DH snores and i just lay there until morning.

Anyone else experiencing this??

Yes, something similar. i'm only 11 weeks but am feeling too bloated to sleep on my tummy now. And that's how i like to sleep - so frustrating - so i find i'm falling to sleep easily when i go to bed 'cos i'm so tired, but waking later and not being able to get back off again. Boobs are hurting too. sigh.

They say you should get up and have a warm milky drink, watch a bit of telly or read or something for half an hour or till you're nodding off again. And then go back to bed.

But none of us do that do we? We all just lay there dont we? Hmm tossing and turning and thinking .... you're not alone savannah anyway Smile

Im in the same boat, 31+5 acid reflux keeping me awake no matter how much I prop myself up. Also terrible knee pain even though its incased now in a pillow! But now the bump has started to hurt as I sleep its a nightmare!

Not yet for me, but I'm sure I'll get there.
misty0 I'm a belly-sleeper too and had been finding it hard making the adjustment. A few days ago I went out and bought two big, puffy new pillows - the bigger the better - and I'm sleeping much better now. I find it useful to have one of them to cuddle up to next to me so that I can slouch onto it and not be tempted to sleep on my belly. It's working so far...

I'm 5 weeks and I am having serious trouble staying asleep. Been waking up around midnight, so then after tossing and turning I fetch a warm bath, which helps me settle. Although poor DH is woken each night too :(

Me too and I totally sympathise - I had a nightmare sleeping from about 17 - 18 weeks and I'm 25 weeks now. Woke up every night around 3-4am and didn't get back to sleep at all. Felt like a zombie all day, then wide awake at night. I reached a point where I was so exhausted I was crying at some point most days!

Had some really good advice on here - just to accept it since there isn't much that can be done about it, to think nice things while lying awake at night, and to try not to focus on how little sleep you've had.

It sounds corny, but that really has helped me, and for the last week or two, I've been sleeping much better. I still wake up in the night, but manage to get back to sleep more easily. And I still wake up really early some days, but doze and rest and even manage to get back to sleep.

I've also found trying to stay up a bit later (I was falling asleep quite early before) has helped with a better quality night too.

I totally feel your pain as well and really hope you get a good night's kip soon. xxx
