2 recent miscarriages and pregnant again, no symptons

hi all,
i've recently had two miscarriages, one at 12 weeks, one at 5 (although have a 3yr old). i am now pregnant again - about 5 weeks but really don't feel any symptons - no sore boobs, not much nausea. i felt very strong symptons with the succesful pregnancy years ago but for the miscarry ones i didn't feel much. is there any link between strong early symptons and a successful or unsuccesful pregnancy? i feel too scared to be pleased to be pregnant again, as i fear it will all end in tears. any (hopeful) advice from anyone? many thanks!

Hiya, sorry to hear about your previous m/cs, I have had one so know how it feels.

Can't really offer any advice but didn't want your post to go unanswered. Can you get a scan done privately so you can check what's happening?

Fingers crossed for you xx

I didnt get sympoms so early tbh, didnt know I was pregnant till 7 weeks. Maybe your symptoms will be later onset or like some you may have a successful pregnancy with no symptoms.

I've had a previous m/c and was paranoid about my lack of symptoms until I had a scan. Then I got paranoid again until I had the next scan! 5 weeks is still very early for symptoms, even for women who get morning sickness it often doesn't kick in until 7 weeks or later. I had nothing by 5 weeks, then developed sore nipples that came and went and never got sickness. I'm now 24+5.

I know it won't stop you worrying (nothing stopped me), but lots of people don't have early symptoms, or late symptoms, and go on to have successful pregnancies.

I've experienced extremes of symptoms - from severe ms from the off that saw me lose two stone by the end of the pregnancy (I was a healthy bmi to start with so not like I had it to lose!) to one where all I had was slightly sore boobs, to my last where ms kicked in around 7 weeks and stuck around until 14 weeks. This time is started around 7 weeks again and has tailed off at the end of week 12.

My first two were SO completely different (with literally a symptomless second pregnancy (until bleeding later in 2nd tri thanks to a low placenta, but that was different)) that I thought something must be wrong - nope!

With two losses, you're understandably going to worry but try not to let the lack of symptoms affect how much you worry! Each pregnancy, successful or not, really is different.

Congratulations! My fingers are crossed for you.

I've had 1 successful pregnancy, 2 MCs, and am now 33 weeks pregnant. Early symptoms as follows:

Pg 1 (successful) - loads of very early symptoms, mainly sore boobs, tested +ive about 5 days before AF due.

Pg 2 (MC at 5 weeks) - no symptoms at all.

Pg 3 (MC at 7 weeks) - lots of early symptoms, felt sick and by 5 weeks was throwing up every couple of days, sore boobs etc, and texted positive almost a week before AF due. But still miscarried.

Pg 4 (this one!) - no early symptoms, didn't even bother to test until AF was a good few days late as was so sure I couldn't be pg. At 5 weeks I don't think I had any symptoms at all. At 6+ weeks though I developed hyperemesis! Didn't really get the sore boobs this time.

So, a totally mixed bag - not sure that symptoms or lack of at 5 weeks can tell you much. Good luck, I hope that this one works out for you.

I'm 6 weeks now with no ms or other symptoms: terrified to be absolutely honest as first timer. Did read on another thread that you tend to have ms with one gender and not the other, so depends on whether you're having a boy or a girl? Any truth in that? What are your experiences? Or is it just one of those old wives tales?

old wives tail i think. my mother had it with all three of her pregnancies.. two boys and a girl.

Hi - I am also a first timer (no kids yet) and 6 weeks pregnant with no symptoms. I have had three miscarriages in the last 6 months - two at 5 weeks and one at 7 weeks and none of them had any symptoms either so I totally understand how unnerving it is! Not only am I a first timer but an old timer at 41 so I am praying that something is clinging on in there although I am terrified at the prospect of actually having a baby too!! I hope no-one has noticed that I keep jiggling and poking at my own boobs just to see if they have started to get sore yet - I sometimes forget not to do it in public!! Fingers crossed for everyone! xxx

Hi- i'm currently 33 weeks pg with my 3rd after having 2 recent m/c - I didn't have many symptoms until I was 8 or 9 weeks this time round (always kicked in at 6 weeks in previous sucessful pregnanices) I was convinced I'd m/c again but all was well. I never believed the fact that all pregnancies are different but this one has certainly been very different to the others I've been much less sick, and had much milder symptoms.

I hope all is well xx

I have 2dc and now 24wks I've also had 2 mc both at 12 weeks although for different reasons. My pregnancy symptoms have been different every time and haven't been an indicator at all of successful or not pregnancies. In fact the one with earliest and worst symptoms was one of the miscarriages.

Please try not to worry impossible i know but don't let the lack of symptoms convince you something is wrong. It is very early days Can you see your midwife a see if they'll book you for an early scan

thank you all so much for the advice. i feel a lot less anxiety than i did this time last week. i guess that every pregnancy is different and that endless comparing and worrying doesn't help.
so, i'll just hang in there and perhaps see if i can get an early scan, just to ease my worries. its so strange, with my first pregnancy i just didn't think that anything could go wrong, it just never entered my head. i just assumed you got pregnant and 9 months later had a baby - which of course it what happened first time around. but once something has gone wrong, that's all you can focus on.
ok, so i'm going to calm down and be positive and not worry anymore. afterall, it either works or it doesn't - there isn't much anyone can do excpet let nature do its job.
many thanks to all of you and best of luck to everyone. lets hope they stay put!
x

@Veggy I know this is a very old post but what was your outcome of this please? I've recently had 2 miscarriages and now pregnant again. 5 weeks and no symptoms at all.

Hi. I hope you're ok. Feels strange to re read my old post from all those years ago.
I held on to that pregnancy despite having no symptoms. I don't think I over really got any - not much sickness or sure boobs- it turned out to be a super easy pregnancy in fact. Although I did worry for a long time. But all was ok - easy pregnancy, easy birth - and now he's a healthy happy 9 year old boy.
I wish you all the best. As many people will say, pregnancies are all so different and what will be will be. Look after yourself, remember your body is doing it's very best and is trying for the best outcome. Take care. I have my fingers crossed for you. X

@northwooddown lovely update, thanks. I'm here pregnant again after 3 consecutive mc and 1 before dd. Really petrified as no symptoms (apart from horrible flem at back of throat which I do remember from dd). Really worried as had strong symptoms with dd but much less with all the mc. How can I be pregnant but feel normal? On progesterone this time so hoping it helps. Driving myself crazy

@Jeds55 congratulations! It’s honestly the most stressful thing but we have to have hope that every worry will be worth it.
I’m now 10+4 and still minimal symptoms. My boobs hurt then stop for days. I’ve felt nauseous once or twice. Saw my little gummy bear wiggle at a reassurance scan at 9 weeks.
I am still as anxious now as I was then.
I’m thinking of you xxx

Thanks for responding @ChelleF123 so glad that things are going well for you. I hope you can relax a bit as time goes on. Not long until 12 week scan! I had loads of private scans in pregnancy with dd, after a mmc beforehand I needed the reassurance. Here's to a happy and healthy rest of pregnancy x

Hello Ladies, thank you for reviving this thread. Exactly what I needed to read today, I'm 5w2d pregnant after missed miscarriage in December and best way of describing my state is cloud 9 and petrified. The lack of symptoms worry me but reading success stories keeps me hopeful. I do tend to compare this pregnancy with the last one and i know i shouldn't, it won't change the outcome. Today i peed on another test and seeing 3 plus on clear blue test put a big smile on my face! My plan is to celebrate little milestones, booked an internal scan for next Tuesday. I'll be only 6 weeks 3 days. I do have more faith than fear! Wishing you all the very best x

Hi @mia2201 congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm hoping for the 3+ later this week. Good idea to celebrate the small milestones. I'm hoping to have an early scan with EPU (my old one said they would so need to contact this one). The thought of waiting until 12 weeks to know what's going on in there is crazy! Let us know how it goes. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy

Hi ladies. This thread has been a very informative read, thank you OP! And thanks so much for the update, I love when people do that, especially after such a long time!

I’m currently 4+4 weeks pregnant after 2 MMC’s in the last 6 months. I don’t have any symptoms either apart from some spotting and period like cramping. So am very worried I will have another miscarriage. I did get 2-3 on a ClearBlue today, so baby steps as you’ve said above. What is meant to be will be I guess and worrying won’t change that.

Thanks for the read and advice ladies Smile

Hi everyone. This thread has been very insightful and has calmed my anxiety. I'm currently 4wk but had a mc in jan so happy but abit worried. During days passed ovulation I had loads of symptoms. From cramp, nausea, boobs hurt, tired. Now I'm just tired, bit of lower abdomen tension and funny taste in my mouth at times. As I've read everyone is different. I pray that we will all have a successful pregnancy journey and healthy babies. 🙏🙏
