Please someone tell me I'm a silly cow!

Am 10 weeks and the lack of symptoms is really playing on my mind now. I have my scan in 2 weeks and have prepared myself to be told the worst.

On the plus side I could sleep on a twig and have (.)(.) the size, weight and shape of bowling balls. no cramps etc except what I remember as ligament type pulling.

On the minus side no sickness, no odd tastes etc, one incidence of extremely light spotting this evening. No heartbeat on Doppler (ffs I am crazy, 10 weeks and expecting to hear a heartbeat through my flab!) Hmm

I thought if I wrote it out I would feel better. I don't. Second pg btw and first one was full of symptoms. It's just that scan seems so far away and I'm driving myself mad. I'd rather know but can't bring myself to try for an early scan. Please give me a kick and tell me to get a grip.

I'd say you're fine. I did have symptoms in my pg but my friend was pg at the same time and never had any symtoms at all.
Don't judge it by your last pg as each is so different. My first pg my boobs were huge and very sore, that happened before I even did the test. Sadly that pg ended in mc.
The latest pg my boobs never ever felt any different. No pain and not much size increase either but DD was born happy and healthy.
I also had loads of cramps and bleeding with my last pg.
It's a worrying time and you just have to try as best you can to relax... Easier said I know!
Good luck you silly cow!

I was the same. 2nd and 3rd pg, I was sick as a dog, so expected no. 4 to be similar, but nope, nothing. Like you, I was shattered and my boobs were agony, but that was it.
Try not to worry :)

Now that's just showing off :-P

You DO have symptoms, they're just different and, perhaps, less pronounced than last time. Is is also possible that you're busier than during the last pregnancy, esp. now you have a child, so you have less time to indulge yourself in the happenings to your body.

As for looking for a heartbeat with the doppler....now, you know that was a crazy idea.

Congrats on the pregnancy and good luck for the scan - hopefully we'll see you back on this thread with good news and your tail between your legs Grin

Thank you, I feel suitably daft. My head knows I'm being an eejit but the rest of me is doing its own thing. I thought you were an old hand at this stuff second time round. The first pg is for being a twit Wink

I'm not busier but I have been pretty ill for the last few months (flu, chest infection and pneumonia) and I'm still not quite right so I guess I haven't been concentrating as much as I did first time round when I had naff all else to think about :)

i was told by a midwife during my 3rd pg tht lackof symptoms is not an issue and thts its only when uve had strong symptoms tht suddenly stop tht could possibly be a worry....but even then it doesnt always mean the worst!!! this advice helped me thru my 4th pg tht was practically symptom free as well. hope this helps a little. good luck!! xx

Don't beat yourself up too much, I don't think I'll completely believe it until I've had the scan. It seems that the second time round I don't have the time to to sit and read the books/articles telling me how I should be feeling at this stage so I am not as aware of how everything is changing, basically I'm just getting on with it!

Hope everything goes well for you and good luck! Smile

(ps don't sit in a corner with the hat on your head for too long Grin)

I was exactly the same with my 1st pg. No symptoms AT ALL! With my second I had slight nausea and nothing else. I am now 9 weeks with no 3 and I am sick as a dog. I WISH I was having another pg like my 1st!

I was convinced It was all in my head....25 weeks down the line, and i am pregnant with twins ! i am sure everything will be totally fine. Just feel blessed that you arent sick as a dog ! x

Even at 12 weeks, my only 'symptoms' were that my jeans were getting a little snug (could have been food) and my boobs were looking good (also could have just been weight gain).

No nausea, nothing. I felt completely like my normal self.

In fact, even now at 28 weeks I feel completely 'normal' apart from the fact I now have a massive tummy.

I think some of us are just lucky :)
