Hey everyone,

i am currently 15 weeks pregnant and for the past 5 weeks my nipples have been terribly itchy and flaky- this is my 2nd pregnancy - didnt have anything like this first time round.

Dont have itching anywhere else, just the nipple area and nothing seems to take the itch away- have a docs appointment on monday to ask about it but just wondered if anyone is experiencing the same as me and if so do you know what causes it ????

I've had problems with other itching too and was told it was just hormones!!

Hey applemuncher-

yeah i spoke to my midwife on tuesday about it and she didnt even look at them, just said it was hormonal, but its really getting unbearable and making me lose sleep at night as i am constantly wanting to scratch them and they are now sore with all the scratching

:( :( :(

Really hope the doc can give me something to help it on monday or i will be miserable.

God i WISH men could go through just a small portion of the things us ladies do !!! - can you imagine !!

I just asked about this last week on here. My nipples were drying out and were itchy too. It was recommended to use an unsented moisturising cream like E45. I can honestly say my nipples are feeling so so much better now and less "sticky out" too Blush :o

I had this, but its been gone now for a few weeks and I'm now 27 weeks.

Doctor reckoned mine was excema. I found lansinoh helped, as did Aveeno and not using soap or shower gel on them.

Oh thank goodness, I thought I was being weird, I too have v.itchy nipples at the moment Blush

I'm currently 16+4 & have had this since probably around 10 or so weeks! They itch like crazy and feel very warm & tender. I've found holding a cold bottle of water or similar against them really soothes them for a bit of quick relief!

mummys - Mothercare stock Lansinoh, also available on Amazon (& probably a bit cheaper!)

Camillosan is pretty good, and you'll be needing it if you are going to BF as well. Smile

Urg, mine have nearly been ripped off today. I found applying stretch mark oil did the job in the end, I figure the shower dried them out a bit Hmm

The joys of pregnancy!

Yes Tarlia, stretch mark oil seems to soothe mine a bit too, still finding myself going off to have a little itch though! Blush

I keep saying to DP how glamourous pregnancy is... NOT!
