Breast pads???

I seem to recall a number of brands of breast pads being rather itchy and uncomftable in my bras when i had my daughter 6 years ago.
Can anyone recommend a good brand to buy this time around?

Only ones I've ever found not to be scratchy are the Johnson's ones, because they're not plastic backed. DON'T get the Tommee Tippee ones - they got stuck to my nipples and ripped half of the skin on my nipples off!!

I found the washable ones were quite good after a few washes (they were a bit stiff at first).

Are Lilypadz worth the money?

Lansinoh were the only ones not to leak for me - everything else I tried was rubbish!!!

Stiffy I bought the Lilypadz as I have v strong let down and was going through boxes of the things (disposable ones). I thought i had found the answer in Lilypadz but actually they are a bit crap. The milk used to pool and then leak anyway. After you change them you have to wash them and if you leave them lying around they get all fluffy and so you have to wash them again ( I am lazy!)

Also they are supposed to sort of stop the milk leaking an you do this by pushing your nipple in, but I think this caused engorgement.

Unseen is right IMO washable (Lansinoh) ones were v good.

I had the sticky nipple problem with plastic backed ones too. Johnsons = Smile

I found that the strangely the Wolko's own brand was good - tried the Johnson's too & comparable

Johnsons are by far the best. Mothercare and Boots own brands leaked terribly, and I'd have to change them constantly. Will def be using Johnsons this time around.

Glad I saw this thread as I usually always go for cheaper stores own ones. Had no idea they were so different. So have ordered a few boxes of Johnsons.

A really gross tip I discovered though if you run out of decent ones. Cheap nappies cut up, or even sanitary towels cut in half work even better. Bulky but if you are in on your own its ok...not to be recommended in public though :d
