Alcohol 'Free', Am I Being Paranoid?

I have bought some Becks Blue as I saw it recommended on here as a good alcohol free lager and I keep fancying lager.

However, it says it is 0.05%, which didn't really worry me, but then it also says on the bottle 'Please enjoy Becks Blue responsibly' and has the web address for the drink aware website.

Surely you'd have to drink a ridiculous amount for it not to be responsible? Is it safe to drink this all night (was going to make into shandy with lemonade) or should I stick to one or two bottles?

I am sorry fi this sounds stupid, I have a bad pregnancy history and am utterly paranoid.

You'd have to drink 100 bottles to equal one bottle of normal lager, so I wouldn't worry at all. I've probably drunk orange juice past its sell-by date with more than 0.05% alcohol.

Given that naturally brewed Ginger beer, or any fruit juices also have very low amounts of alcohol yes, it's fine.

(and of course that there's no evidence anyhow that low to moderate alcohol consumption has any detrimental effect)

Hiya Midori1999 I work for a brewery and our 0% lagers are the same . Its because of the very strict licencing laws we have to work by so even the 0% lagers that carry the branding have to have to safe warnings.

As others have pointed out the natural Ginger Beers as well have trace amounts but as you dont associate them with a alchohol brand they dont have the warnings.

I think Bavaria is the only one out there that is 100% alchohol free at 0.0% due to a different brewing process.

I only had three bottles in the end anyway, with lemonade to make shandy as after that I was too bloated to drink much more.

Nice to know I can enjoy the taste without feelimg uilty though.

Morrisons and asda also do the mixed fruit kopperberg in alcohol free versions!! I have lived off them haha x

It is my hen party this week and I'm 8 weeks! Waitrose online seemed to have some alcohol free sparkling wine! Once we go out I'll be on mocktails!

I was told Becks Blue was alright to drink during pregnancy.

I was encouraged to drink a pint of Guinness a few weeks ago ... By my MW so I think you'll be okay with a few BBs :) Enjoy!!

When pregnant I used to drink Appletise from a wine glass in restaurants and have tonic & tonic with line at a bar. The drinks looking like proper drinks were great as made me feel like i was celebrating. Although I was aware of judgy scornful looks off strangers who didn't realise that I can actually tea total!

thisisfreakingmeout You might want to check the ingredients on the bottle before you buy, I had some alcohol free sparkling chenin blanc from tesco the other day and was disappointed to find it was just fizzy grape juice. OK, but really sweet and nothing like wine!
