EAT BREAKFAST! A gentle reminder for those considering missing breakfast before work.

Just a gentle reminder to make time for breakfast. Up until today I have been going straight to work and eating breakfast at my desk.....today I didn't get to have breakfast at work before nearly passing out in the office!

Colleagues called me an ambulance and went to hospital to get baby checked...baby fine but Doctor made a point of saying "IF YOU DON'T EAT SHE DOESN'T EAT, NO WONDER YOU CAN'T FEEL HER MOVING".

Considered myself well and truly told off, and won't be making that mistake again.

Eeekk, lesson learned. Glad you are both ok, all well that ends well.

I sometimes forget lunch, which I know is awful.

I was staying with friends over the weekend and we all ended up having a lie in on Sunday and had to be somewhere at 12 so rushed into town with the intention of getting something out. Got really dizzy after the stress of driving/trying to find space/battling through crowds and very nearly passed out/vision went funny etc. before eventually devouring and almond croisant form starbucks for some instant sugar and then was fine. So, I will never leave the house without eating something, even just one piece of toast or a banana. TBH, I got in the habit of doing this early as I would get really bad nausea if I skipped breakfast. Glad everyhting is ok OP and you have learnt your lesson! Smile

I was the same as GlitteryBalls at first - feeling sick if I hadn't eaten by, say, 10.30. Annoyingly, though, I also couldn't eat first thing before work - I always have this problem because I can't stand to clean my teeth right after eating toast/cereal because there are bits stuck in my teeth, but I also can't stand leaving the house without having cleaned my teeth. Cleaning my teeth and then eating doesn't work either because then my teeth feel grubby straight away and I don't feel clean. I have to allow at least half an hour or it feels like I have wasted the teeth cleaning. I know, I'm weird!

It's now not quite so urgent that I eat something, but if I'm in a meeting and can't eat until lunchtime, I do feel dizzy and starving.

Good point by the doctor - next time I am worried about lack of movement, I shall eat something and see if it helps!

wow, when I was pregnant, I used to have TWO breakfasts! one before I left for work, and then one when I got to work 2 hours later!

everyone found it fascinating!

Rose - yes I am the same! Always eat when I get up, then perhaps a wee snacky with my decaff when I get to work - the journey there builds up an appetite! Smile

I'm glad that I'm not the only one, cereal before the drive and toast when I arrive. No breakfast? The very idea!!

I think I'd cry if I missed breakfast - either of them Wink

Yeah I know, was very stupid. I seemed to be fine going to work and eating there but obviously now baby's getting bigger I need to change my morning routine.

Yep, I'm a 2 breakfast pregnant type here too. I love it, generally need toast about 2 hours after cereal or porridge that has to e eaten straight away when I get up. I sort of of miss it when I'm not pregnant. I'm highly impressed you managed to even get to work without food, I wouldn't have made out of our front gate!
HOpe you feel better though mama, and remember to look after yourself and keep that food coming!!

I'm 21wks & am still having 2 breakfasts most days Grin - a nice bowl of porridge around 7:30, and then a cereal bar & perhaps a banana around 9:30 - otherwise I feel really really sick.

I am amazed you can even think about leaving the house without eating! Hope you find something quick & easy to eat - when I was pg with DD I used to make fruit salad the night before & have it with yogurt the following morning.

Where were you when I needed the reminder this morning??? (Not pg, BTW, but do not do well w/o breakfast. Which consisted of lunch, at 11:15 am today, as I was utterly famished.) [knob emoticon]

I'm 33 weeks and still eating breakfast at my desk - just can't face it so early ... do find that I need a cup of decaff with lots of milk first thing now, though.

Work and eating properly don't mix! Had lunch at 3pm yeasterday, oh dear.
