Have I had a very early miscarriage? TMI alert (sorry)

Can't remember what the proper term is, missed something?, thought late so took a test very faint line but I took this as a neg result. Next day start my period, typical after taking a test, but today without tmi there is something that has come out that believe looks like it is placenta with a small bubble shape which could be the sack? What do I do? Is that what it is?

Thanks for replying pud. Don't know what to do, should I tell dh? My dad died last week so we are staying at mums helping to sort stuff out but he is at work. Can't talk to mum.

Have just realised I took some feminax tablets last night as stomach craps bit bad, have I done this? Even though I was bleeding it could have been ok couldn't it?

Meant to say I had posted asking about false positives cause I had some free tests from the promo page here and wanted to see if they were reliable.

i am sure you have not done any harm taking the tablets. i am afraid that if you are miscarrying there is notthing you can do to stop it so taking the tablets would nothave made any difference.
i would contact the early precgnancy unit at your local hospital. they will be able to advise you. i would tell your dh. its alot to deal with on your own and you sound like you have alot on your plate

It sounds possible TBH. At about 6 weeks, the sac is nearly a centimetre long, so can definitely be seen.

The nurse called back when I was on the other phone so am trying to call back but it's engaged the whole time.

Still waiting for the callback. Got to start getting on with the funeral arrangements soon mum is almost ready to start cracking on. Can't tell her what's happened. And know the nurse will call just as in the middle of another call with mum Sad

I've just realised that what I wanted people to say was not don't be silly just a bad period stop making a fuss, cause I don't think I can cope with this it's all too much.

FWIW, very early miscarriages are usually complete naturally and need no interventions or check-ups. So it's just a case of dealing with it yourself. Usual medical advice (I've had 2) is to take pain meds if needed and wait it out (use pads only, no tampons). If bleeding stops within a week and you then get a negative pregnancy test, you shouldn't need any medical assistance.

Probably doesn't help, but I wanted to reassure you that you don't have to rush to the hospital with a very early miscarriage.

Thanks for that, had crossed my mind, hate my gp so didn't want to go there either if I didn't have to. Also cause I thought it was a period have been using tampons.

Sorry for what you are going through. I would go to your gp so that it is in your notes. Hopefully, this will not happen again to you but if it does, then GP can refer you for tests. Also, prob better not to use tampons until your next period due to risk of infection. x

Thanks sh77, didn't think about making sure it's in my notes. Do you think it would be ok to go tomorrow?

Hi

I had a few of these when we were ttc DC2. Would get a faint line around AF time then AF would start. Usually only 3 or 4 days later than normal. They're often referred to as chemical pregnancies, if that's any help, but yes, it's basically a very early mc.

Sorry :(

There's really no rush as long as the bleeding or pain isn't extreme. My GP just wanted to know that I'd had a positive test result first and then told me to come back if I was still bleeding after a week. There's nothing they can do and with very early MCs, the tests can go negative very quickly, so often there's no point in doing any tests at all.

I went to GP weeks after a v early mc because I needed some time off work and wanted it recorded (after a later MMC in the same year). You don't need to go for health reasons though, physically it felt like a normal period.

You can't have had a false pos so you probably were. Sorry :( xxx

Thanks everyone, I've never had one before so just feeling a little unsure. Funny but I wonder how many people don't even know it's happened to them.

You wouldn't know unless you were trying I think. Mine was only a few days after my period was due.

That's what I mean eric.

Early pregnancy unit said it sounds very much like it is a miscarriage but that she wanted me to see the doc. Am going at the end of surgery to wait and have told my brother who has come round to help with arrangements. So sil is going to come with me.

Thank you to everyone who replied it's been a tough day, especially not being able to talk to mum and you've really helped.

All the best.

My GP said I would never have known it was a MC had I not tested so early.
