About three months ago I thought I could have become pregnant- I'm on the pill, but had an episode of sickness which could have stopped it working and had sex during probably my most fertile time, without thinking.
I had loads of symptoms- strange sensations in my tummy, very tired, sore breasts, a nose bleed, even what could have been a small implantation bleed- I just felt pregnant. But I got my period around about the right time, and so assumed everything was OK.
I have stayed on the pill, and had two further periods, although their timing is a bit odd- they always seem to come a couple of days later than usual, and seem a bit lighter (I've always been very regular). I'm due again any time now.
But this month I had what I thought was a stomach upset (although no diorreah/ vomiting, just a funny, churning stomach) and since then for the last couple of weeks my tummy is very uncomfortable, fluttery, especially when I have a bath, lie down or eat. I find it difficult to find a comfortable position at night. I've also had more sensitive breasts again (I never usually have sore breasts before or during my period). I've felt a bit of hip and lower back pain, and am just generally very tired.
I'm naturally very slim, but my tummy seems a bit swollen, or thicker than usual, and a bit podgier. It feels a bit hard inside, though that changes during the day, but last night, it did look like a small bump.
I felt so pregnant, that I took a HTP this morning, which showed up as negative. So looking at it realistically, I've a negative test, and haven't missed any periods.
But I've read that some women have low HCG throughout their pregnancy, or that tests aren't accurate if you're further along, because the higher HCG is towards the beginning of the pregnancy. I suspect that if I am pregnant, I conceived in mid-Aug, which would make me nearly four months now (I've only had sex a couple of times since then, and have been using the pill properly).
Has anyone else any experience with either regular period-like bleeding or negative test results, but still been pregnant? I wonder if I should ask my GP for a blood test, but don't they measure HCG levels, too?
Sorry this is such a long question!
