I don't have any advice to offer, but didn't want to read and run. I'm sorry to hear you are having such a tough time, I hope you are getting all the support you need fromyour family and the professionals around you.

I don't have any advice either, but wanted to wish you well. Hopefully your wee girl can stay on the inside for as long as possible, but if not, 34 weeks isn't TOO premature. It must be so hard not to worry, but it sounds as though your consultant is doing everything he can to monitor you.

Sounds like you are in good hands. The Drs probably want to see if she will gain more weight. Staying in longer helps lung development, every little bit of time helps with this. So hang on in there. I can only imagine how tough it must be! Thinking of you.

Don't know if this helps but a work colleague had a DS last year at 33 weeks and he is absolutely fine, and doing really well.

Hi memma, 34 wks is a good stge to be at, I was told my baby might be premature but once I'd reached 34wks I could stop worrying as he would be ok, obviously its better if they can hang on until 37wks, but 34 is good. It sounds like they are keeping a very close eye on you. Not sure if thats any help to you, but take care and I hope everything goes well for you.

What a stressful situation. I can only really echo what others have said... if you do have to have DC delivered now, at 34 weeks he/she will be OK. But definately hoping and praying and crossing everything that you'll hang on at least another fortnight. Let us know...

hi, i was induced with dd at 35 wks due to pre-eclampsia, there was barely any fluid around her and growth had stopped. She was 3lb 13oz, spent 12 days in scbu to build her weight up. She was tiny but perfect. She had no breathing problems, just needed help feeding and was kept on a heated mattress to keep her temp up. She's 2 on friday and still loves being wrapped up nice and warm. Just be prepared for a possible stay in special care. Its a horrible time but well worth it when you bring your gorgeous baby home. Good luck x

Hope you can hang in there - my twin girls were born at 33+5 and were in scbu for 2 weeks, and my friend had her baby a week ago at 35 weeks and is hoping to go home with him tomorrow. So don't despair, 34 weeks really isn't too bad, but hope you manage to keep bubba in for a bit longer, and try and trust your hospital, they will know whether baby is better off out than in! Good luck!
