Hi, I'm having baby at Kingston hospital in the end of April. You had your first baby at the same hospital?

Hello, we're moving to Kingston and I'm pregnant with my third who is due in the first week of May too Wink. I haven't had a chance to think about hospitals yet (with the move, nursery and school applications), but as my local will be Kingston hospital, I'll probably give birth there...
Hoping for some info on the hospital, so will watch this thread with interest.

Great to find others who will deliver at Kingston, yes this is my second baby at Kingston. Had first DD 4 years ago, unfortunately was emergency c-sec due to her being 'undiagnosed breech!'. Had full on labour etc. then rushed off for c-sec. Overall staff good but as always one or two that aren't so great! Having all my antenatal appts /scans there. So far so good...

I am having my 1st baby in mid Feb in Kingston - So far we were quite happy with the antenatal care. Hope that the birth would be good too.

mrsnoname, get booked in with kingston fast. it gets full v quickly (i couldn't have my second there despite it being my nearest hospital and i tried booking when 9 weeks pg). This was 2005 though but i doubt it is any less busy.

yeah I agree, I haven't been able to get an appt for my 20 week scan as they are fully booked!! So am just waiting for a call to see when they can fit me in.
One thing I will advise everyone is to make themselves heard as sometimes some m/w can be quite adamant with their views. I remember after my DD was born I kept asking for a m/w to get me some milk so I could feed her and all I kept hearing was 'she'll be fine, formula fed baby can last 5 hrs before next feed' WHAT?? I thought and whn asked another m/w she advised to wait 2.5/3 hrs before feeding. And totally disagreed with the 1st m/w.

I'm booked for Kingston in May. I did quite a bit of research and it seems to be highly regarded- the threads on MN were very helpful too. Only thing is all my scans etc are booked at queen Mary hospital in Roehampton, this is nearer to where I live. QMH are rubbish with appointments running well over an hr late so I'm having scans privately now.
