late pregnancy - drooling in bed!!

For the past few weeks, prob since about 34 weeks, I've had a real problem with drooling!! Every night, I wake up drooling a lot. I even sometimes start before I fall asleep... Is this normal?!
I'm assuming it's got something to do with increased mucus/discharge production.

In addition, for weeks, I've almost felt like I have a cold/flu coming on. Just a bit run down, a bit stuffed up during the night and a mild sore throat. Any ideas...?!

I had the drooling with my first and just started again at 29 weeks with my second. I end up sleeping on a hand towel over my pillow! So romantic!

Don't think there is much you can do about it!

Megadrool woman here! I keep having to move the pillow around in the night to find a dry bit, and if I fall asleep on DH's shoulder he gets covered in slobber, poor bloke! Grin

Plus pregnancy rhinitis and watery eyes - and extra discharge and the start of leaky boobs - means I'm leaking from pretty much every possible place, all v lovely.

My only recommendation is pillow protectors and lots of laundry changes...

Funny, as last night I woke up when my DH came to bed and thought "why is my pillow wet?". I had drooled all over it and all over my hand!

they say that the flu like symptoms are often a precursor of going into labour!

Oh, daisy, you've made me nervous! I'm only 37 weeks and nowhere near prepared for dc2 to arrive yet!!

ok I have to confess reading this thread has just given me a full belly laugh!!!

Not laughing at you (well I am a bit) but this is so something I can imagine happening to me (only 14 weeks so far though). Oh the glamour!!! I've never heard of this drooling before though so I'd say you are a pretty exclusive club. Grin

and the snoring too, think they both must be linked, hubby admitted that he was not going to tell me about how much i snore now incase i cried! and this morning he said that i woke him up three times last night with the snoring! oh the joys of pregnancy!

I am constantly stuffed up at night in pregnancy & used breathe right nose strips.

Def think the drooling and snoring are linked!

I was induced at 15 days over with my first and the night before my induction I spent the night on a maternity ward. When I woke in the morning I was getting really dirty looks from the woman in the bed next to me, turns out my snoring was drowning out the noise of the newborns crying down the corridor!

She must have loved me!

I'd like to assure you I don't snore at all when not pregnant. Wink I'm tiny, so not sure if it was a extra weight thing for me, as I usually woke up on my back.

40+6. I thought the drooling and stuffy nose was just me. I wake up my gob wide open and a tongue totally devoid of any moisture... nice!

haha, I am drooling too... I have lost pretty much all my dignity - the last bit of dignity will no doubt be lost when the LO finally makes an appearance!

yeaahh i've been 'drooling' a lot more too! (sorry, the word drool just makes me laugh, i'm going to say dribble from now on!)

I think we must be sleeping with our mouth open because we can't breathe through our noses.. therefore leaving saliva free to roam where it wishes!

luckily i'm single so i don't have to half drown anyone in my mouth fluids!
