Not showing much at 4mths pg - normal?

Am 4 months pg this week...am really not showing that much. Granted, I was a generously padded size 16 when I conceived and have a post c section 'tummy' so not exactly skinny when not pg - would that be a factor?

I wouldn't normally be concerned but combined with fact they couldn't hear baby with doppler last week (consultant wasn't concerned and refused to scan) its making me a wee bit twitchy...

I am quite sure I am feeling fluttering movements at random times during the day though

I wouldn't worry if consultant wasn't. I didn't show at all at that stage.

I didn't show at all at that stage.
I'm now 6m, and I still meet people who can't believe I'm PG. (I'm generously padded, and obviously just look fatter than normal!)

I think at that stage, it's also normal not to be able to find the heartbeat, so try not to worry :)

I'm a 16 too and just look a bit fatter! I can notice that my tummy has got bigger but I definitely would not be obviously pregnant to others!

Many congratulations on your pregnancy Puss.

I didn't show until about 20 weeks with dd1. (although I had hyperemesis and had lost a lot of weight during the preceding weeks)

My two bumps (dd1 and dd2 respectively) varied a lot in terms of size, how I was carrying and how early/late I showed.

I think I'm more antsy as consultant didn't hear heartbeat...she wasn't concerned but you know, you do like to hear it

Gits refused to scan me as I had Oscar test at Bupa...should have lied and played dumb..I did say please could you have a quick scan just to reassure me, but nada...should have gone into a rant about paying my taxes etc Grin

IME, consultants aren't as skilled at listening in as the midwives.
With dc1 & 2, my consultant would attempt it, fail, and blame my chubbiness Blush for the lack of heartbeat.
The midwives, however, never failed!
Do you have a mw drop in centre so they can put your mind at rest?

Am 4 and a half months now and I'm not obviously pregnant either. It really depends what I'm wearing! People who know can tell if I'm wearing something clingy, but I still think that to the average person on the street I'd just look a bit chubby. The only clothes I've grown out of have been my jeans and my bras - gone up 4 cup sizes and already getting flower imprints on my boobs from my new F cup bras, so think might need to go back and get measured again! I'm still wearing my work skirts and dresses, though.
