37+2, age = 21 ... EDD = 22/10/2010

Just a post to get a few things off my chest to be honest. I have had such a good pregnancy so far (touch wood) but from the last week or so I have started to get the anxious feelings. Overall I am calm, happy & excited but its just :

  1. slight fear about labour and lead up to it
  2. Becoming a MUM
  3. The fear of not coping/knowing whats right
  4. Living situation (currently at parents in the living room)

Its odd, I feel fine, but then one split second i feel like this.

Physically I feel fine other than back ache & heartburn!

Also got to go for 2nd growth scan as i am measuring 33weeks... so just hoping im doing a good job for little bump whilst its still in there..........

ARGH/BLAH is how i feel today! :(

Hi Dozey!

I feel exactly the same as you, the only difference is im 31,married with our own house but let me tell you it doenst make me feel any better about the impending arrival!
I too have had a textbook pregancy apart from heartburn and slight spd when lying down, I think its the fear of the unknown really, no matter how much you read up about labour/looking after a newborn you wont know until it happens for real. And then you just have to get on with it i suppose!
I keep getting the butterflies nervous feeling then i will feel fine again, im sure the majority of pregnant ladies feel like this at some stage, you just want to do the best for your baby and hope that you get it right.
Good luck for the scan and rest assured you will be doing a fantastic job for the little one whilst its in there Grin

i felt like this when pg with twins. It normal to wonder how you will cope. I read a lot of parenting bok, because I just did not have any idea of what you did with babies, lke when they needed to sleep, eat etc. It really helped, and i refered back to the book all the way through te first year. This time i feel it should be easier, but i still reckon i have forgotten most of it in the last years!

Thank you for your reply!

Yeah I guess the majority of women feel this way, it's sometimes just hard to brush off when you're already having a bad day!

It is the "unknown" thats scary. obviously the labour & pain but that has to be done, the unknown of when its actually going to start. and if i can cope! how i will be as a mum etc!

im sure i'll be fine - just having too much time on my hands probably lol

:) good luck to you too

Hi Dozeyland - I am due the same day as you,
I'm 37, baby number three (after a big gap though, youngest is 10)

I am terrified! I am worried about the labour as my baby is back to back, worried how I will cope with a newborn in the house again, every twinge maked me think 'no I'm not ready yet'

This is a much longed for third baby and the other half of me is excited and can't wait, but I don't really think it makes any difference what your circumstances are, nerves and anxieties are part of the course.
Very best of luck! Enjoy your last couple of weeks. x

Hey Dozey I have the exct same EDD as you and can confirm I also feel exactly like you. I m sooooo desperate to finish work but then I worry that I will jsut have too much time to sit around feeling sorry for myself and worrying about the birth/baby/mummy thing. Don't get me wrong - I am really happy, just feeling the pressure a bit I guess. I'm sure it's all normal. I just don't want to waste my last couple of weeks before being a mummy being miserable iyswim?
