Boys look like their mums, girls like their dads...

In my family this is so true. I have exactly the same bone structure and quirky, identifiying features that my dad has, and that his mum had. And by brother is the spit of my mum and her dad.

OH and I have been looking at the 3D scans of our son-to-be and he reckons everything is mine. I think it just looks like every other baby at the moment.

Just throwing it out there in a moment of boredom.

DS looks like himself I think, although I can see elements of DH in him.

DD looks like my dad's side of the family. Used to look v like my dad (when she was a baby) but does look like a girl now at 5 Grin. Definitely looks a bit similar to my dad's sisters and my cousins.

Although DH and his brother are very like their mum and their sister very like their dad. There is a photo of the five of them at our wedding showing this very clearly Smile

I look more like my brother than my sister and he looks like my dad so not sure it works for me.

Nah, dd1 looked like dh for 1st year, now a mini me! Dd2 looks a lot like dd1 so far.

DS looks exactly like me, but has DH's personality. DD looks like if you took the top part of my face and the bottom part of DH's face and put them together.

Might work in your family, but it certainly isn't a universal rule. You must be bored!

Of course it's not a universal rule :)

I inherited my father's man dimple on his chin, his big earlobes and a lump on his forehead. Lucky me...

I am the spitting image of my mum. DD is the spitting image of me. When we compare photos of me as a child with dd now, the similarity is startling.

Ds1 looks more like me, but has his dad's colouring. Ds2 is like a mini me of his dad and to look at him you wouldn't think I had any genetic input at all. I don't have any brothers or sisters, but I don't think I look like either of my parents, but rather a mix of them both, although I definatly got my hairy legs from my dad Grin

It is interesting to see who your children end up looking most like (if anyone).

I unfortunately am the image of my father, same facial bone structure etc. Fine on him not so good on me Sad

My daughters are very like their father. My last daughter is the image of her Daddy, people always comment, i can't see any of me in her at all (except personality wise).

One of my son's is like neither parent but one of my son's is very much like me, similar face and same skin tone etc.

Still waiting to find out if this little boy looks more like me or his daddy, 10 weeks to go Smile

I'm a man. I take after my mum. My brother is very much our father's son. Not many people spot that we're brothers.

When my DD was a toddler she was absolutely identical to a picture of her mum when she was the same age. The resemblance is still there now she's nine but it's not nearly so pronounced any more. My DS is much more of a mix of the two of us.

DH is very like his mum. His sister is just like her dad. I am very like my own mum, and so is my brother!

DS looks just like his dad, though is beginning to look more like me from the mouth down. Apparently he has facial expressions from his great-grandmother! Hmm

Not sure there's much in it, tbh.

My DD apparently looks very much like me (pics on profile) especially when I was little. She is very like me in her ways too.

However I don't look very much like either of my parents. I look like my mum's brother, my uncle. I don't look like my siblings either. My brother doesn't look like my dad.
