Hi, I have been to a wak in centre about my thrush im 29+3 wks and he prescribe cannestan clotrimazole 10% its a cream with an applicator whereas I'm sure in my previous pregnancy I was given clotrimazole 1% and it was an external cream without an applicator. Has anyone used this that I have been prescribed today in pregnancy i'd like to know as I don't want to risk a thing and I dont have much if any faith in gps with my terrible experiences of them being useless. Would really appreciate advice. Many thanks

In my first pregnancy I got thrush at about 30 weeks and my OB wrote a prescription for cannesten duo, so it had the tablet with applicator and the external cream, I was worried about using an internal tablet but he assured me I had to use it internally and externally to get rid of the thrush properly. It was the same thing as what you get over the counter so if that's what you've been given it's ok!

I was prescribed clotrimazole 2% and tablet (not oral!) Cannestan combi pack with first pregnancy twice in 2007. Was prescribed the same in this pregnancy but told not to use the applicator to insert tablet with finger.
