Anyone got any experience of Halfords customer care?

Just a quick question. About to burst with irritation.

I ordered 2 MaxiCosi familyfix bases for our family cars in preparation for our baby. Got a really good price from Halfords online and specifically picked this model so it will also fit a car seat for an older child and we won't have to shell out more money in a year. Usual DHL nightmare in getting them delivered but proud husband eventually got them from the local depot and in a fit of excitement installed one when I was at work (I'm only 28 weeks). Threw out the packaging.

Three days later I have been tidying up a pile of paperwork and found the manual was for an Easyfix - sure enough both are Easyfixes, only fitting infant seats.

One is intact in the packaging, so it shouldn't be a problem to return it. Not sure about the one in the car though! Anyone had experience of Halfords customer services or want to take a guess at our chances of returning it? I don't want to lose money and have to buy a new base in a year and at the very least the easyfix costs £30 less than what I have paid for. To add insult to injury the website are now offering 10% off so I would get both for £30 less than I paid in the first place!

My hormones can't take this! Sorry for rant!

Have you double-checked you didn't order the wrong one by mistake. If so, they should take it back even though you opened it.

Am I right in thinking that the Family-fix fits the Pebble, not the CabrioFix (I know the Easyfix is the other way round)? So it's not like you could even use this base with the same carseat.

No, I definitely ordered the right one. The Familyfix also fits the Cabriofix, the one we plan to buy (checked in several shops and it's on their website too). So I can use either with the Cabriofix, it's just that the Easyfix only fits the infant seat whilst the Familyfix also fits the Pearl for a follow-on seat.
