Symptoms seem to be disappearing - panic!

Yes I know I'm being an excessive worry wart after the previous miscarriage. Had some brown spotting a few days ago (about 4) which stopped within an hour, am now 5+4 weeks and my symptoms (not that I had many - just atomic boobs) seem to be disappearing. No nausea or anything like that - just the boobs which seem to be deserting me.

Of course I'm doing my nut in with worry that history's repeating itself - have an early scan booked in in a week and bit but that seems like an age away and without the sore boobs - I've got nothing to cling onto.

Is it normal for them to disappear like this or do I start worrying now?

PS If anyone says anything nasty like I'm being ridiculous - I know I am but after three years TTC, a miscarriage and everything else - I'm only being completely natural.

My boobs were sore before I did (pos) preg test, then felt back to normal (if slightly bigger, but not sore) by about week 6, so it was normal for me!

I'm now 38 weeks and currently worrying that boobs aren't sore at the moment, therefore body nowhere near ready for labour despite me being desperate to meet little one and sleep on my stomach again!

Understand the worry - I had spotting on and off from week 4 - 20 (cervical erosion) then low-lying placenta, latest was a pre-eclampsia scare and SPD! I think the preg worries are there to prepare us for being mums. My mum says she still worries about me, despite me being a grown woman with own home, husband, job, etc!

If you have an emergency gynae unit in your local hospital, they should help to investigate and reassure you should you have any more spotting. Symptoms arise and subside all the time throughout pregnancy, sometimes you won't feel preg at all, other times you'll be cursing the kicking and acid reflux that have kept you up all night and longing for a day when you don't feel quite so pregnant!

Hope all is well.

Hi emptyshell

I had an an ectopic earlier this year, and in the post ectopic support forums run by the EPT, this query comes up a lot. It seems that some people's symptoms do disappear midway through the first trimester, and often return a week or so later! In my case, I had very mild nausea and very painful boobs, both of which disappeared seemingly overnight around the 6 week mark. Cue panic! I had an early scan at 7 weeks and even though the symptoms had disappeared the scan showed everything was okay. Nausea came back, ten times worse about a fortnight ago, I am 12+1 today (scan this pm- agh!).
Good luck!

Yeah I know I'm being mildly ridiculous (back when I was in my early 20s I got pregnant in a very abusive relationship and didn't even realize I was until I was 2 months gone so I think I'm just one of these women who doesn't get many symptoms anyway)... just utterly terrified because if this goes wrong we've got the pain of watching sister in law's pregnancy progress which is going to make it much much more raw.

Resorted to doing yet another pregnancy test (still had some internet cheapies left) where the lines are still getting darker which is some kind of absurd reassurance for me - since when I miscarried the first sign I had that something was up was that the lines on a test got fainter and vanished... got to hang on till the 24th for a scan at 7 weeks - seems like an age and a half away!

Suppose at least the cat's happy - she can sit on my boobs without me screaming and almost knocking her into orbit. Last time I just KNEW something was wrong though - this time I CAN still see myself with a baby in April and I let myself indulge in travel system porn browsing online - none of which I did before so I guess that's something.

Mother in law's descending for the weekend so I can't repeatedly pester my hubby to check my boobs are still big at 30 minute intervals (think he's been enjoying that part a bit toooo much).

I didn't have any breast soreness until about a week ago... and I am 13 weeks!

It has driven me mad too as I had lots in my first pregnancy (couldn't be touched etc.). I kind of assumed they did their growing last time (which was very recent - I lost my last baby too but much later in pregnancy). I also had brown spotting (well more than that) for about 2 weeks from 5 weeks the first time (and this had nothing to do with why I lost the baby by the way).

It is nerve wracking and this time I had scans at 6 weeks and then 9 weeks before the nuchal. These calmed me down a bit.

If you can't get one earlier then try and take it easy and distract yourself as far as you can.
