Hi

Background: i had my DS at 30 weeks

He is happy and healthy but i still feel cheated. I know this is daft but i never got huge and waddled. Anyway what is it like in the final weeks of pregnancy - any funny stories? Just curious on what i missed.

Don't worry your not missing out on anything grand!

I'm 33+4 with DC3.

You waddle for a reason- my thighs haven't been near each other in weeks.

My pelvic floor is beyond repair.

I also have the prospect of deliving a 10lb+ baby as both my previous DC's have been.

It's shit don't be jealous! I am huge, heavy, uncomfortable, unable to go far as i can't get my breath, unable to sleep, worried about having to be induced or worse EMCS if the baby is MASSIVE and overdue (i have very vivid dreams of giving birth to a one stone baby).

Panty liners are an absolute must, no-one likes 'sneeze and wee'. You just can't enjoy the weather either, which i will be miserable about until probably next May.

Seriously, what i would give to have my baby now and miss out the last 3 weeks you would not believe.

Be happy!

I had my DS1 at 31 weeks and never really waddled either!

With DS2 however, I was humungous! I could barely walk, never mind waddled and he was born at 38 weeks I kept falling over because the bump put me off balance!

Well one positive is that you never had the annoying text messages "Any news yet?"... grrr!

Congrats on a beautiful healthy son

  • You can't see your feet
  • Which is a blessing, as they're probably swollen like balloons (esp if it's summer)
  • Stretch marks worsen
  • You can't roll over in bed without psyching yourself up for it
  • You can't sleep anyway
  • Your baby bounces on your bladder for fun
  • You can't go up a flight of stairs without being out of breath
  • You feel about 80
  • You get people commenting on your whale-esque size with even more frequency
  • Your friends start taking bets on when you will actually deliver

Trust me - you're not missing out.

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your son!!
