am 13 and a bit weeks pregnant and have been suffering the most horrendous, violent morning sickness for about 6 weeks, last night ended up at a and e as I had a bit of blood in my vomit (turns out ruptured a small vessel vomiting) the doctor prescribed me some cyclizine. has anyone else tried this and does it work?

I have been on this for a few weeks, I went for it too late though and did end up in hospital last week dehydrated, they hydrated me as well as putting cyclizine through the IV and I am now able to keep most things down including the the tablets. They do work for me as far as I am now only being sick 3 or 4 times a day rather than 30+ times a day! I am able to keep food and drink down now where as before I wasnt.

I'm 9 weeks pg and have been on cyclizine for 2 - 3 weeks.

I've found it incredibly helpful and was the only thing that has made me feel like I can cope. I still feel sick most of the time, and have retched on occasion, but I think I'm much better than before I was on the meds. I take 3 a day. In general, it also made me be able to face food a bit better too, so I could have a bit more vairety in my diet which is good (although haviong said that I'm struggling this week eating anything other than toast and crisps, sigh)

I did find initially that they made me REALLY drowsy, but I think my body is adjusting to them and this effect is lessening.

I hope they work for you

I have been on it with both pgs (first pg: 15wks - end; this pg: 15 - 20ish wks). Yes I found it worked for me. But others on here have said it doesn't help them, so do go back and ask to change if it's not working for you. This pg I was put on promethazine first of all and that did nothing whatsoever, so I went back and asked to switch to cyclizine.

There are some much stronger drugs that those who have really bad HG (I was on the mild end of the HG spectrum) are given - same as cancer patients are given I believe.

I used it from week 13-36... puked on the day I had him. This drug made my life bearable.
