My ds1 is 26 months and for the past few days has been telling me he needs "aweewee". He is telling me this before he goes now not as or after, so I think we need to start training.
I bought a potty about 6 months ago when I started letting him have some nappy-free time and we'd talk about it and play with it and I'd whip it under him when he wee'd.
Anyway, the potty is quite small and looks really uncomfortable so I was thinking of going straight to the toilet and skipping the potty.
I put him on the toilet earlier and he screamed his head off and wouldn't wee until I put him in the bath.

Do people now go the whole way and use pants and spend a week indoors or keep the nappy and just take them to the bathroom as often as possible?

I'm sure there are lots of different ways that people have been successful with, just wanted to air my thoughts and get any input......

I got my DS reliably trained using the potty. It was a whole different project (about 3 months later!) changing from the potty to the toilet.

Thank you. parker I've seen the soft seats, I think I'll get one of those.
crokky We live in a 1 floor flat so bathroom is right there. I think I'll see how he gets on with cushioned toilet seat and if not good I'll go back o the potty
