Potty training

No success - too early?

I am currently on day 2 of potty training my 31 month old son. (Just over 2.5 years) he will sit on the potty and the toilet seat but will not wee or poo. Every wee is an accident in his pants. I was hoping that once he felt himself wet he would get that he is wet when he wees. But no luck. He seems to refuse to sit on the potty when he actually needs to go. Shall I stop and try again in a few months or is it too early to think about giving up?

If its this much of a disaster then stop. Just stop.

We did with my girl of a similar age. She had no idea what was going on. It was miserable.

We waited for several months and then tried again and bam... Easy as anything to get day dry. Had one accident, she was horrified and didn't do it again!
Took longer to get night dry, but that isn't a big deal.

Some children just aren't ready the same time others are. Don't compare. Your child will benefit from training when they are ready.

it's only day two so he needs more time to understand everything. I'm potty training my 2 yr two months old and giving a few weeks to see how it goes. keep going I would say....
