Any ideas.

We started potty training last week with my 2.7 yr old ds.
Cracked wees really quickly and even has had dry nappies overnight since we began! So so pleased.
Howvever, he is totally freaked out by poos! To the point where today he had done a poo in his pants and he lay on the floor refusing to let anyone near him, he was utterly inconsolable. It took us half an hour using every trick in the book I could think of and even then I had to cuddle him tightly whilst his dad took off his pants which ds was still fighting against me the whole time.
It's so hard watching him be so inconsolable! Any ideas please would've gratefully received. We're trying to talk lots about poos, how we all Poo how the pets poo etc...but just don't know what else to do!

Hi OP
My one year old has severe ongoing bowel issues which unfortunately means she is already terrified of poos. We’ve bought What Is Poo by Katie Daynes which is a lighthearted children’s book. My DD is a bit young to appreciate it just now but it might be good for you DS as a way of normalising poos and making it funny if you get what I mean. Just a suggestion, good luck!

Quick update.
After a hairy few days with lots of tears ds is now pooing on the potty...hurrah! Still a few years but no longer unmanageable. Phew!
