Potty training

Toilet trained but refusing to now go!

My DS has been potty trained since 21 months and it's been a very up and down journey with him being lazy, but has generally done really well. He's now 27 months.

At nursery he comes home every day with dry pants, but at home he's become a nightmare! He continuously refuses to use the toilet and will purposely just wet himself and then refuse to have his wet clothes changed. Asking him to go never works, especially when going out or before a nap. A reward chart hasn't made any difference.

Today for example, he's wet himself three times before I eventually managed to get him onto the toilet.

He's fine when he's the toilet and will go no problem and sometimes refuses to get off!

I'm finding it very stressful and hating all the washing! Any advice? Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

No solution but just wanted to say you are not on your own, mine is so lazy and easily distracted, he does not care that he’s wet himself and even though I get him to take his clothes off and put in the wash basket makes no difference, in fact he loves doing it!

It seems it was a week where he was just being a pain! He's still a bit lazy, and leaves going until the last minute and get the occasional wet pants. I'll take that though over him just sitting in his wee and screaming at me! So although not perfect, I know he's young, and he's making good progress. He even took himself to the toilet for a wee today! Hurray.
