Potty training

How long is too long...

So DS is nearly 3. Quite ambivalent about potty training and frankly would rather be playing than doing anything else but he’s been dry at night for a few weeks and has already done a couple of wees on the potty before Christmas so we decided today was the day.
He hasn’t weed yet! Nothing overnight. Nothing this morning. Am making sure he’s drinking but how long is too long to hold it in?? Pretty sure he’s turned into a camel overnight

Hi I've started potty training my 3.5 year old son. Day 3 and having the odd accident but getting there. I found with the wee holding just to keep offering the potty every 15 mins and then stretching to every hour.
I'm rewarding him now for telling me he needs to go and not making a fuss if does wet himself just "next time use/ask for the potty" etc.

Thanks for replying! He’s doing really well and has managed poos and wees so far and showing a pretty good idea of when he needs it. We are having somewhat of an issue getting pants down Grin but generally I’m impressed with how he’s taken to it - I wasn’t sure if he was ready at all

That's great and I'm glad it's going well. We had a dry day at preschool but we are having the same problem with getting pants down properly. He hates being wet or having an accident.
My only concern is that he isn't asking for the potty yet? I wonder if I'm not leaving enough time for him to really need to go?

I decided yesterday I’d wait until he asked me and got to about 10 am before i cracked seriously the boy weed like four times all day he could enter the guiness world book of records!
He just sort of took himself there at one point so again not asking but knowing he needs it. And then needed reminding to go in the eve after I caught him doing a little knock kneed dance while playing so clearly he needs reminding from time to time

We had a few accidents at nursery they admitted it was very busy so they couldn't always remind him to go. The positive each time he did run up to them saying he was wet.
I think we will keep going as he is ready and I should expect some accidents along the way.
