So my LG starts nursery 12.30-3pm Monday-Friday in school in September. She's still not potty trained and nowhere near it 🙈. The thing is she knows when she is having a wee & will tell me when she's done it in her nappy. I've taken her to Asda so she can pick her big girl knickers (we bought every single pack in the shop that she picked up) she will wear them in the house fine I ask her every 30mins if she needs to go sometimes she does sometimes she doesn't. If she's playing she just wets.
Pooing is an issue with us she's starts to poo something else catches her attention and she instantly stops pooing & goes to do whatever else then goes back to it later. So I feel that would probably hold her back on the potty training point.

My lb was in school and not potty trained & once he saw others doing it then he quickly cottoned on & couldn't wait to wear undies. But my LG is one of a kind full to the brim on sass. Im stressing myself out about it so much!!

Anyone any advice I know you can't force it but something 😂 please!
Thank you!!!xx

Following with interest as I could've written this post! My lg is just not interested and I'm starting to panic a bit! My first dd was completely out of nappies and dry day and night by 2 and a half, so I've no idea what to do this time around!

@Collywobbles1984 it's so different with mine. I remember my lb being so easy he was dry day and night in 2 days! Probably because he was seeing all other children going to the toilet in school. She just really isn't interested but she will always go for a wee on the toilet before she gets in the bath. Every night without fail.

Ive not even got that far yet! Mine will occasionally sit on the toilet but not do anything!

@Collywobbles1984 it's so frustrating coz she knows what to do she's just lazy. Apparently there was a lady on this morning last week with how to potty train in 3 days. Last Thursday it was I think. Fingers crossed they're out of nappies soon!xx

I don’t agree with all of it but the general gist is pretty good.

Oh Crap is great OP! Could she go without knickers and just go commando when the weather gets cooler?
The Oh Crap method promotes bare bums to start with and DS didn't wear pants until about 6 weeks later and it's worked well for us.
I know the big girl pants thing makes them feel grown up but it can feel a lot like nappies to them I think. IDK, worth a try?

@OhHolyJesus you know what I've not even thought of that. I might leave her with no nappy on at home and see how we go! Thanks for the suggestion. 😍

The most important thing about theno crap method and lots of other methods is when you start training then you only put her in nappies just before sleep time and she does not wear at all when she is awake as it is too confusing to chop and change.

That's true @anotherangel2.

I felt it had a lot to do with trust and giving them the responsibility to know or feel the urge to go and respond to it. I guess communication and printing becomes an important part of that but ultimately it's something that they are in charge of.

I know someone, years ago, who put nappies on their LO when they go in the car (even short journeys, they have a very nice car) and then they had wee accidents in the car seat so it was what they were showing them not just telling them.

(No judgement just an anecdote)

I would also advocate the oh crap method. I started with my 20 month old less than 2 weeks ago. She is now dry during the day and although isn't quite there with the poos she is doing some on the potty so hoping that will come in the next couple of weeks.
