Hi all,
Please accept my apologies if this has been covered or I'm writing in the wrong place (first timer).

We have been potty training for 7 weeks. Daughter got it quite quickly. Always poop in potty 😊. And when we are out 99% time says she needs to go (sometimes as avoidance but can live with the wasted journey lol).
After about 3 weeks at home she would tell us she wanted to go by posting at her ninny and saying 'wee wee'. Last 3 weeks if we don't remind her every hour by asking and sometime having to just take her as showing signs she wants to go. She is wetting herself if we don't remind her or if she needs to go sooner than the hour.
Whilst we are out she is still doing great , yay!! But just at home she will wee and sometime it's like she squeezes some out just to ha e had an accident.

Really confused (I know she is young for potty training) she hasn't had a nappy on from day one of starting just pull up at night.

Any suggestions, advice or own experience with similar of what is happening would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou xx

She's not ready. Wait and try again the 3 months.

Not ready!
When they are ready potty training is not actually a big deal
If it's a struggle it's not the right time!

I disagree. A child who isn't ready doesn't do fine outside the house. They would be wetting all the time, everywhere. I would try clothes off in the house and potty close to hand. Go back to watching her closely.

Good luck

Try a reward system, if she tells you she needs a wee and then has a wee, give her something.

When you need a wee tell her, look mummy needs a wee wee and now she's going to the toilet. Make it a 'game' at home that she can play with you. Have a song or a book or a toy that is there after she has been to the toilet.

She got off to a good start so she is definitely ready, I just think the novelty has worn off for her so you need to find a way to make it fun

Thankyou for responses

I did forget to say that we had gone back to basics at home (we don't have all bottoms off as she seems to think that is a go ahead to wee 😔).

Paetner and I discussed the novelty waring off thing. So we explain to her that she can go back to playing once she has had a wee (and have always sung and danced about her going for a wee on potty). She responds well to praise and gets up and sings herself and dances!!

And thankyou I do agree that she has done really well and was ready!! So proud of her 😁.

Thankyou again xx

The 'Oh Crap' book might be worth a read. It recommends training from 20-30 months but it also has a chapter for slightly younger babies.
