Do you let LOs wee outdoors?

My DSs who are 4 and 6 have wee'd in bushes, up mine and DHs cars and even in an alley in town 😯 Do you let your LOs wee outdoors? My DH used to think it was unacceptable but after DS1 wet himself in his car after DH trying to find a toilet he's not so fussy now lol

Yip, I'd rather take my four year old behind a bush than have him wet himself if we are out a walk or something with no toilets around.

Also had to use a bottle in the car on occasion. Much easier with a boy than a girl.

I was just going to post the same question. All throughout the summer DS has spent most of the time naked In the garden, He would have a wee on some plants or corner of the grass when he felt Like it. But now when we are out and about with no toilets around he will happily drop his pants near any greenery for a wee. DH thinks I should stop him, but I always make sure he tries to conceal himself as much as possible and obviously doesn’t wee on anything he shouldn’t. So is there really any harm? He is 3

its perfectly acceptable for little ones to piddle outside, not poo, and not much older than 4.

No.

When they were just potty trained we had a potette for emergencies in the park but they haven’t gone to the toilet outside since then.

If we are on a long car journey we make regular stops. Otherwise we always make sure they go to the loo before we leave the house.

They certainly wouldn’t be allowed to wee in the garden or in a back alley - there’s really no need for that.

Can you explain this pottete pls?
What is it and how does it work for boys?
Do you carry around a bag of wee?

You can get them on Amazon they are awesome. It’s basically a fold up potty. It comes with liners that are like plastic bags with an absorbent insert (similar to a sanitary towel.

I used to keep mine under the pram already set with three or four bags. it unfolds in seconds and sits sturdily on the ground.

The pad absorbs wee and you can tie the bag up and bin at the next opportunity. The potette folds up easily.

Great for car journeys and beaches too. Much more hygienic and nicer for everyone else than weeing in walks or bushes.

Without the bag the frame of the potette can be used on top of a toilet seat in public loos.

Best £12.99 we ever spent.
