Trying to start training DD (3 in September) as she has been showing signs of being interested/ready.
Problem is that she will use the potty no problem with no accidents at nursery and at grandparents house (for a full day) but when at home she says she's too tired and whinges and cries at get her nappy back on.
The few times I've encouraged her to try anyway has resulted in big accidents, more tears and then nappy anyway.
I've tried praise when she gets it right, stickers/ star chart and even chocolate but no progress.
How can she be so good at this everywhere else but at home?! Any experience with similar or ideas of what to do? I'm starting to feel like a bit of a failure. It's hard to not take it personally when I know she can do it for others.
Thanks!

and then nappy anyway

Well this might be the reason. But to be honest if she doesn't want to she won't.

Sounds like a power struggle, I'd just let her use nappies at home you know she is fine for nursery / school so it doesn't matter if it takes her another year to get through this phase.

I'm having exactly the same issue. She'll use potty at the childminder but not with me. However we've been encouraged just to plough on and keep hoping- that it'll confuse her if we put her back in nappies. I live in hope.

Exactly the same here with DS. Any updates? Or tips?

We seem to be 90% of the way there now. I think a bit of time helped, she must have gotten used to sitting on potty at nursery and MIL's house. I also figured out that trying to get her to use potty when She's tired and hungry/ grumpy isn't going to work very well. We left it to a weekend morning when she'd been using potty for a good 2 weeks in nursery and she took to it really well! DD is very strong willed and always wants to do the exact opposite of what I ask her to, so I think it also helped to stop going on at her about it for a day or 2.

Thanks NM. Think we've been a bit manic about it tbh and he's probably pi55ed off with the nagging! Got a day with him at home tomorrow and have a few things up my sleeve but I guess it is just time and patience! Thanks again!
