Should DD be dry at night before she's 4?

DD is 3.9. She has been toilet trained for about a year without any real problems. Obviously I know it takes longer for them to be dry at night but I was thinking it would have happened by now.

She wears pull-ups to bed and when she wakes up in the morning they're soaked, to the point where I have to give her fresh pyjamas every day because the bottoms smell of wee (sorry if a bit TMI).

She goes for a wee last thing at night so I'm not sure what else to do? From the time I get her home from nursery at 5.30pm to bedtime at 7.30pm she only has one very small drink of water. In fact I often have a problem during the day getting her to drink enough. I have offered her rewards for staying dry and told her many times that if she wakes in the night she should get up and call us, but nothing works. I never badger her though, am very relaxed when I talk about it with her. But at what point should I start worrying this isn't normal?

It can be normal for night wetting up to age 7ish. I relies on a hormone being produced that reduces urine overnight plus needs them to be able to wake with the sensation of a full bladder. It can't be trained as such.

My DD was 4.5. Dry in the day at just over two. She just suddenly was ready having been very much like your DD.

My DD was a heavy sleeper. She wasn't dry at night till she was 6.5 years. I just put her into pull ups to sleep in till she was ready.
