Potty training

"I'm going to poop everyone"

Hi,
Hoping for either advice or reassurance. We tried the three-day potty training intensive with our 2 1/2 year old a couple of months ago .... it did not go well (by the afternoon of the second day she was whimpering that she wanted to wear a diaper again). We've tried to gently encourage the potty since then - with bribery, encouragement, sitting on it with the diaper on etc etc. But she just says no, and when we take off her diaper (even for bathtime or for a change) she gets scared and says she is going to poop everywhere. Obviously we say that we don't mind if she does but it does not budge her. Does anybody have any advice for how to handle this or is this just one of those signs that she is not ready yet to be out of diapers/pull-ups?

DS did this. Not so distressed though, just couldn't get it.

I stopped and started again 3 months later. This time he was ready and was dry within a week (poo has taken longer!)

I started by giving a sticker every time he did a wee on potty, then every time he told me he needed a wee, now if he does a poo on the potty he gets a mini egg each time (I am not below bribery!)

I would say your child isn't ready. Try again when they show clear signs of readiness.

I'd go to the potty for a mini-egg :)Thanks for the advice and reassurance.
