Hi all...im turnin to MN because i literally have no idea where to start with potty training DS and need some advice please. DS is 2 and 5 months and i feel like i should have started by now.
We've bought a potty and a training seat for the toilet, he knows what they're for and is always interested when we go to the loo! We've sat him on it a few times and he will do a wee but im not sure if it's just fluke timing.
Do i keep his pants off and let him feel the sensations or use pull ups? Any advice would be much appreciated TIA x

Why do you " feel you should have started by now?

Current trend seems to be leave it later and it'll be easier-at a minimum you need some dort of indicator they know they are going /want to go of an " uh oh" or wee wee dance type thing.

If you are getting indicator and he's dound interested in wee wees in toilet/potty and wearing pants like mum and dad then bare bum and day in the garden and go for it!

Thanks helen i guess I'm just going by all the other mums in my group. One of their DDs was done before she was 2!! But i know its down to the individual child..im just being extra hard on myself as always.

Ds just started potty training and he is nearly 3. It's easiest til you wait til they are keen rather than coercing them into it. Dont let other patents push you in to it if your child is not ready. They are ready when they start to take an interest and this can be when they see their peers using a potty etc. We just use pull ups at night. Better not to use them in the day as that will confuse them. Good luck!
