Starting school - no inclination to get out of nappies.

DS is 3.5 and starts school in September (Wales). He is simply refusing to try the potty, let alone the loo, and I'm worried that he's feeling pressured because I am. He's completely aware of when he needs to go and will ask for his nappy on if it's off or tell me he's weeing if he's already wearing one. He does three days a week at nursery and occasionally goes there, but they've stepped back as they felt it was upsetting him.

We've read the books together - Pirate Pete and Everybody Poos - but they've made no impression. He says he wants to be a little boy, not a baby and not a big man like daddy, and I understand that.

Any suggestions apart from my current, pretty much do nothing approach?

I'd just lose the nappies at this stage I think

Yeah there will be wet trousers for a few days but it doesn't sound like he can't do it, just that he's not motivated

If there's no option of nappies I think he'd get fed up of wet clothes
