Dd is almost 25 months and has never really been interested in the potty. We have a book about an accident and them using the potty and ask her if she wants to sit on the potty before bath or when I go but so far she hasn't cared. She will sometimes tell us when she has done a wee or a poo in her nappy (with a wee we can't tell obviously) Then today she said wee wee and I said ok do you want potty and she ran off. Cue wee on the potty. I've not planned this at all and was aiming for summer. I've just asked her randomly through the day if she needs a wee. She says yes, runs off and wees on her potty. Is this OK? Do I keep asking her until she figured it out herself. She wears pull up nappies for ease already and I don't really want to discourage her if she's showing an interest. I'm going to mention it to nursery as she's there full time so I expect they will end up doing most of the training.
I have a 2.5 yr old and am really trying to potty train her but she is just not interested in the toilet or potty! After she has done a poo she tells me and then says she wants to sit on the potty...when previously I have taken her to the potty before she starts to poo she stops and then won't poo for days and gets very uncomfortable.
How can I start the process without scaring her?
Also I live within a family that keep telling her she's naughty or dirty for pooing in her nappy but I just don't think she's ready!
