Potty training

persuading ds to go to potty on own initiative rather than when I tell him it's time?

ds is 2 and half. been potty training for two weeks. is ok - we have about half success and half accidents. But our successes are only when we tell him it is potty time and then he sits down and does a wee - he never tells us he needs a wee or goes and sits on it of his own volition.

when we say it's potty time he fights it if he doesn't need a wee - we can only persuade him to do it if he does have a wee there, so he does know whether he wants it or not. He is also the most stubborn person, child or adult, I have ever met!

any tips?

Just keep on reminding him.
I think you are expecting too much too soon.

Just keep doing what you're doing. You are over the worst!
