Potty training

So fed up with lack of progress

We started DS 13 weeks ago and he got the hang of wees quite quickly. By the end of week two or so he was good at going for wees when bribed asked but would have a poo accident every day and usually a wee accident around tea time (ie when tired) too. 11-12 weeks on, he is no better, he dislikes using the loo or potty, often tantrums if he feels you have interrupted his fun to put him on the loo. He still fears pooing on the loo or potty and usually has a wee accident at least once a day. Some days are awful - three changes of clothes on Monday this week.

He has had a bit of a cold and is tired at the end of the day, when accidents happen but I am so fed up of the cleaning up, washing loads of clothes, febrezing his shoes again and again...

Maybe he's just not ready, but I couldn't have waited any longer, he's 3 years 1 month.

Any advice? Words of support?

My DS is much younger, so I don't have any direct experience with potty training, so please ignore if you think I'm out to lunch- but I would hold off with the full on training until he is older and it's warmer outside.

Or if you really want to continue, could you let him wear pull-ups/nappies for part of the day?

He will eventually learn to use to toilet, and unless you have a reason to want him to learn now, its seems like it would be better to wait until he is completely onboard. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. He wears pull-ups for long car journeys or if we expect him to drop off in the car but I must admit we haven't thought about giving up in case it confuses him. His nursery have also advised us to stick at it.
